It was clear that while he is a total bust with regard to draft status, he wasn’t bad enough to not have some sort of an NFL job.

He is a lower end backup slash practice squadder.

I still think his best bet of earning a good NFL shot was going to the UFL. He needs playing time that he's just not going to get it on an NFL roster.

I'd rather have him than Grier, but he'd have to be close to the league minimum. We absolutely know what Grier is at this point in his career and it's not much.

I don't know. Do you think he'd play over Heinicke? His best bet for playing time right now is the preseason. Herbert probably won't play and I don't think they'll have to see that much of Heinicke.
