Probably an ideal situation for Trey. Gets to learn watching a real franchise QB and a guy who has made a good living as a journeyman.
That would likely mean a comp pick coming back to the CowboysThe way Herbert gets pounded he might actually get meaningful reps.
Agreed. It would help him out so much better to have gone to the UFL and get starting experience, instead of sitting on the bench and wasting away for his 3rd NFL team now. I think his agent is giving him some bad advice.I still think his best bet of earning a good NFL shot was going to the UFL. He needs playing time that he's just not going to get it on an NFL roster.
Lots of broken hearts right now lol
That's no lie. Most sacked QB again last year. The way Herbert gets pounded he might actually get meaningful reps.
I don't understand it unless your goal is to just be on an NFL roster and make as much as you can to be on one knowing you aren't likely to ever get much of a chance to develop into a starter.Agreed. Getting anything back for Lance, even a 7th round pick, would be a win for the Cowboys. I just hope Mingo prevents this team from flushing two 4th round picks down the toilet. That would likely mean a comp pick coming back to the Cowboys
He will never see $6.2 million. That is the max he could make. Even if Herbert got hurt they would probably go with Taylor Heineke over Lance. That agent deserves an award.... 6.2 Million? lol
I wonder if the low end of the deal is closer to $1 million with lots of incentives. If he got more than $2 million at the minimum, he should be very happy about that.1 year deal for 6.2 million!?! Didn’t see that coming. Good for him. I like Trey and before yesterday wanted to resign him but I would have had a stroke if we paid 6 million for him. Whew, yeah this makes Milton and his 1 million way more attractive.
Good luck Trey and never let go of that agent. Wow!
“up to” is the key. Obviously something will have to transpire for him to earn $6.2 million. He is not going to be paid $6.2 million for being the emergency QB. Can he play in front of Heinicke? Not likely.1 year deal for 6.2 million!?! Didn’t see that coming. Good for him. I like Trey and before yesterday wanted to resign him but I would have had a stroke if we paid 6 million for him. They may have some special packages in for him. Such as NO uses Hill at QB or other positions.I'm being serious, I wonder if the Chargers might ask him to play another position? I mean he's fast at 6'4, 220 and might be able to catch the ball....
You nailed it. He would rather make 6 million and be a backup than make 10,000-500,000 playing every down in a developmental league (sorry I have no idea what these leagues pay). I can’t say I blame him on a financial point of view. As far as playing time and working on being a starter it seems he wants the money. You’re right, his goal is to make money.I don't understand it unless your goal is to just be on an NFL roster and make as much as you can to be on one knowing you aren't likely to ever get much of a chance to develop into starter.
love ya bro, but you said he'd play in the CFL right away didn't you? Why the hate? Jerry made the stupid trade, Trey did nothing to wrong the fans of this teamLance will last 2 seasons on the Chargers bench. Then get cut for a 3rd time by his 3rd team. He will likely end up in the Canadian Football League.
If he's not the No. 2, then they can't use him unless both QBs are out of the game. I will be surprised if they see him as the No. 2 over Heinecke. They may have some special packages in for him. Such as NO uses Hill at QB or other positions.
His athleticism will not be wasted like it was here.
We should have had some packages for him to utilize.
