QB'S rated

20th, bit high but we would need him to take a big leap to 250ish passing yards a game to make the play-offs.

PFF has him 18, this 20.
That's in the 'fair' range for him.
He's been better the last 4 weeks but had two really bad games in the first 3 weeks (tho WRs tipping passes to Earl Thomas didn't help him any). --gotta love Earl lasted just long enough this year to ruin a game for us huh??

You just gave him a WR1 and should expect him to be at 15 or higher at the end of the year if the OL improves any at all.

As this notes his numbers decline was predictable given losing his WR1 and TE.
Reality is he lost 3 of his top 4 receiving targets from his previous 2 seasons and inexplicably did nothing with these guys in pre-season after the Travis scare caused the team to shut down the starters early.

His rust week 1 was tangible but we've also seen about 2 plays made by a WR all year and resorted to throwing to Zeke in 1v1 match ups because the WR corps after Bease was so mediocre.

no, we don't.

he passed for 229 a game and went 13-3 in 2016.
reality is if he passes it better early in games we likely run even more late and his yardage total is among the least important things.

we darn sure need better 3rd down play form him, his OL, and the weapons around him.

Well, at least he's ranked better than Eli.
He's ranked over 12 starters. That's the main thing fans do not get.
There are a lot of poor QB's in this league and it is very hard to find young ones who are ANY good.
They have Goff 6th but let's be honest, a number of QBs could succeed in that offense with that boat load of weapons.
That Rams team is by far the most talented in football.

They have Wentz 8th and there is where I sharply disagree Wentz was phenomenal last year but this year he has taken a large step back making some bad mistakes that led to his 3-3 record and his QBR has fallen 11 points. He has 7 fumbles in 6 games which means he only has 1 les TO total than Dak in one less game. But he is passing it more for a lot more yards.

Rookies take spots 31.23.28.27 IIRC.

For all the complaints about Dak, 3 of the 4 losses were by less than 10 pts, one in OT, and if the coaching decision had been different, that could have easily been a win.

In other words, he doesn't have to turn into Peyton Manning or Aikman or Brady to win more games, another td or two here and there and more wins would have happened...

For sure and if he develops over the final 8bgames say winning 7 of them then we might very well be on to something

A good defenses help prevent getting blown out.

If you think that Wentz at 8 is too high, that's fine. But you can't say that he is playing worse that 2017 when he had MVP-like season.

2017: 60.2% completion, 253.5 yards/game, 33 TD, 7 IN, QBR 101.9
2018: 70.7% completion, 298 yards/game, 13 TD, 2 INT, QBR 109.6

In wins: 69.9% completion, 819 yards, 7 TD, 2 INT, QBR 108.0
In losses: 71.3% completion, 969 yards, 6 TD, 0 INT, QBR 111.0

The offensive line took a huge turn backwards since last season. LT Jason Peters came back from injury and played great in the first game, but has been below average since. RT Lane Johnson was arguably our best lineman, shut down every top pass rusher last year, but has had a terrible seasons thus far. He's now out with injury. Starting LG Stefen Wisniewski has been benched. Wentz was sacked 28 times in 13 games last season. He's been sacked 21 times already and is on pace for 56. He has had 5 lost fumbles, but the offensive line has also been Swiss cheese this year. Also, first and second string running backs are out with injury and the team ranks 20th in rushing compared to 3rd last season.

Pick apart his stats at your leisure, but Carson Wentz is definitely not the reason why the team went 3-3 over the last 6 games.

a lot of those starters are rookies playing on teams drafted at the top of the draft and on bad teams....couple of them are over the hill.he is about right where he should be ranked.

So where Wentz has done well, that's in him and where he is doing poorly that is on the OL?

Please take this crap elsewhere

What a lot of people don't understand is that the QB is heavily dependent on the players around him. No doubt even some of the ones down at the bottom would be in the top half if they had some of the benefits that the top holders had.

Its honestly a stupid ranking. This same ranking done at the end of 2016 would probably have Dak ranked in the top 10. Which would have been equally as stupid.

But considering the stupidity of the ranking system Its not that far off. :muttley:

B-but, PFF ranks your line as #2 in the league! [/sarc]

Then why even sign Earl Thomas next off season?
I mean we were so close to winning those 3 games as you said , so why even upgrade the safety position? Seems like we could do just fine without a pro bowl safety..

Why even trade for Amari Cooper?
I mean , we almost went undefeated with Hurns and Thompson right?

Do you see how dumb not trying to upgrade a position is?

Why so many people are ok with bad QB play but demand our OLine and WR corps to have top notch talent is beyond me..
