I'm hoping this year, since we do have a little more cap space than last year that we take advantage of that by signing a couple of young, frontline players in positions of need ie: Nicks/Grubbs, Williams, Soleie (sp) as opposed to a bunch of over the hill mediocre one year stop gaps that we've had the past few seasons.

2009 draft should say it all when it comes to "quality over quantity".

We need good football players, not a lot of football players. Big difference.

Sign Nicks and Brandon Carr.

Draft BPA.

We are still two years away from being a legit contender.

I don't think two years. We could be a solid contender next season if we were to have some breaks go our way. A healthy Austin. Dez getting a good offseason to learn his role better. Carter getting healthy. Young OL getting some strength and experience.

Most critical will be a solid guard, DB help, and a another pass rusher, whether that be OLB or DE.

Offensively, we match up as good as any team in the league when healthy. Defensively, we need to slow down opponents' passing game but we look good against the run.

I think these improvements can all be made this off season.
