Quantify Possible Improvement?

What are you asking?

Quantify possible improvement -- that would mean putting a statistical estimate with a margin of error around the improvement.

That's a pretty impossible ask.

Note that the responses you received are qualitative, not quantitative.

My verdict on this post is thumbs down -- learn what words mean before posting again.
Your point is somewhat overstated.

You can certainly put a statistical estimate with a margin of error around “improvement”, the margins would just be wider. And with wider margins, the confidence would lessen which would make the projection less reliable.

Analysts and sportsbooks build models for these types of estimates all the time, and that’s part of how odds are developed.

It’s not impossible, it’s just inherently uncertain.

I have a freaking Ph.D. in Quantitative Methods (a.k.a. STATISTICS). Thank you for the explanation! A wider margin of error would mean you would be less confident? Well, duh.

I’m happy for you…then you should know that you make a statistical estimate with a margin of error around improvement.

You are the one who made the degrading comment to the other poster saying they should know what words mean. I wouldn’t have made a comment if you hadn’t been so belittling.

Based on what data?

No data means that there are no estimates to be had.

I distinctly remember Darren Woodson's comment that "success won't happen overnight." We all must all remember that as poor as this defense was last season, time will be a needful factor in this team reaching its desired level. Let's see if we're capable of being patient enough to make that happen.

Definitely Brooks to the middle.
And then Clowney or even better Crosby to the edge. Heck, I prefer both.
And finally Taylor Decker to LT.

If they did that they'd compete THIS year for a trophy.
They aren’t getting Crosby or Clowney. They can’t afford Crosby and they have apparently moved on from Clowney.

And they’re more than likely not getting Brooks either

You think brooks costs 28M a year? Lolol. Cmon man. This is a ridiculous thing to say
He means we don’t have enough cap space for Brooks without trading Pickens. Not that they would cost the same.

Man, they've already redone a boatload of contracts. Not sure just how many they have left that can be manipulated.
Since Q restructuring is a no go, I think the only ones they have left to restructure are Bland and Ferg. I don’t think anyone here wants them to be extended.

I ran 10k today and lifted for an hour.

I came home and cuddled my cat while watching the Spurs game.

And then I made dinner for the family with enough for folks to take for lunch tomorrow.

@Blackrain -- do you really think that is what useless couch potatoes do? Compare what you did to what I did and then issue an apology or at least shut up
Typical yuppie

I was up before light with my dog who accompanied me while I caught a limit of trout which fed my family for dinner but no I didn't cook it.
Did 17 lawns all over half an acre with my crew my Rotty accompanied me and watches the truck.
Climbed a hundred foot up a sycamore tree and removed a Widowmaker over top of a kid's swing set for a customer.

Came home welded up the exhaust on my neighbor's truck and eradicated a groundhog from under his shed which was retrieved by my bloodhound before it made it back to its hole try that with your cat.

I'm 64 years old and that's an average day in my prime I'd have you spitting blood.

Dogs are workers and are for the working Man you're the one who needs to apologize for ever saying that dogs suck

Football is full of data points that are used to measure performance. I doubt the OP is trying to build some sophisticated model with narrow confidence intervals. It’s a freaking Cowboys fan site, not the Brookings Institute.

It was a point of discussion following what most consider a good draft that didn’t warrant a snide comment.

One tangible thing that should improve - even if by luck as much as anything - they aren't going to have only 9 drives start in opposing territory. Even with an average number of possessions (18 would have ranked 18th last year), you're talking another 40-50 points probably.
