This thread is going to turn into a huge debate...and I can pin-point exactly what is going to cause the debate...

'clutch gene'

Why?

Because its an intangible that cant be quantified or taught, it can only be argued to death.

This thread could be decent if you restrict certain attributes from being discussed that could turn this thread into a circus. I get that 'drama for profit' is a thing with message boards to drum up clicks and engagement...but hopefully this thread doesnt get out of control with trash posts trying to drum up clicks and engagement.

So many solid ideas. I'll add the five As..

Accuracy
Anticipation
Athleticism
Awareness
Ability to improvise

In a package of intelligence, good footwork, quick release showing good decision making, and pre-snap recognition and poise.

Agree with others who include durability and/or physical and mental toughness.

I don't think they've made this guy yet.

what about mobility. Not important.
mobility is simply being able to move around in the pocket, it does NOT mean a running style RPO QB, you remember the narratives where all those quarterback types could not fit the nfl , but now you think that every quarterback needs to be a run type mobile?

Is Purdy, Lawerence, Goff, cousins, Stafford, Burrows, Herbert etc considered mobile? Foles, flacco?Geno?Baker?Dilfer? Bortles? How much is Bo nix running some now but bet hes more of pass first guy as he develops? Nope neither was dak truly, he's always been like RW and would run but now that he cant doesn't make it bad..how about we find an elite RB , a run blocking OL, and let them RUN effectively.

put on the flip side does Murray, Richardson, Fields, Levi, and tuas mobility make them better than that list of non-mobiles? Nope you can have great QBS that can be one of the other. Hardly any BOTH

Big ben HOF didn't need to run they took care of that with his OL/RB and committing to the run making PA much like Montana, BRADY, Aikman's and Marino not in need to be mobile.. it's unnecessary if your team takes care of that part with the RB..

right now Allen and LJJ are the exceptions they are great but the tweener in Mahomes he rather throws than run but can run but what is his actual run stats? bet not impressive so mobility within the pocket ie Romo and dak can do that, Issue is what a pocket? sure isn't been good solid pocket to navigate here all year!!

i want you to show me this year where....n the playoffs where the run game was? where the OL Pocket, the run scheme and commitment to run and have threat and not be 1- dimensional?? it's literally been MIA and all the big games around here.ie losing in the trenches!.

there's been a lot of busts in the NFL that were either one or the other.no blueprint that needs to be MOBILE runner like LJ...

I thought at least you would follow instructions. Lol what’s your first attribute, what’s your last?

i don't need to follow instructions when you asked a different questions in the middle of all your pages... how am i supposed to explain what's mobile and what's not in my view without talking all qbs including our own.. i'm saying it's a mirage.. what we think we need here given our situation and its false narrative... we saw all scenarios and bunch of mobile type like Vick, Mcnab, Cunningham and all eagles none won a SB but a BU pocket qb in foles does?? just saying

I would argue that I would chose as leadership Montana over Brady; after all, he NEVER LOST A SB
and was legendary for last minute comebacks

I can see why some would pick Brady because he did it for so long; but I see Montana with intangibles that Brady did not have
Only because he did it with the second team. Tampa Bay.

All this adds up to Patrick Mahomes. IMO he’ll go down as the best ever BY FAR.

I ranked most of the natural/physical traits higher. You've gotta have most of the physical tools to succeed as a franchise QB. The rest can be learned or developed with time and experience.
