Quelching the doubts against Jaydon Blue

Blue is a very interesting prospect you can coach him up to protect the ball but you can't coach up the speed he has this guy is blazing fast and should create all kinds of mismatches if we are smart enough to be able to recognize and use them.

Hopefully Daks hamstring is healed and he is able to capitalize on this guy's speed out of the backfield and hit him in stride it could make for some really good football to watch.

That said this guy is not a pass protector he is not built like a fullback you don't drive your Corvette off-road and you don't run your power wagon on Mulholland drive
Use the guy for what he's built to deliver which is highlight plays in space.
Pitch him the ball like Roger used to do with Tony dorsett get the guys pulling out in front of him and let him pick a whole and turn on the Jets could be a lot of fun to watch.

I’m optimistic till I see otherwise his fumble issues are a concern though

Broaddus said he was one of the top at contact balance. It was specifically one of the traits that Schott was looking for.
Yeah and I just disagree having watched every touch from this year. He's not bad in that category, maybe even a plus but I wouldn't say he's one of the top guys in this class as far as that goes. The Dallas affiliated media guys start to ascribe whatever the team says they wanted to whatever prospects we get whether they believed it about them before we drafted them or not.

You see someone like Jeanty or even LeQuint Allen from Syracuse and it's just another level of they have to basically be dragged down by multiple guys every play. Blue isn't that guy but neither of those players run in the 4.2's. On the other hand Blue constantly causes defenders to take bad angles as they underestimate just how fast he is. Tbh I was underestimating his speed on first watch because he's very smooth which I wouldn't expect for a shorter runner stride wise and you get used to watching college players take bad angles. However if almost every guy is taking a bad angle on him it's not the defenders being bad. He's just that fast.

This is the same team that drafted 5-03" Deuce Vaughn right? Yeah, OK I'm sure they got it right this time.

I hear you on the fumbles nothing sucks the life out of a team like a guy who turns the ball over consistently.
Fortunately this can be worked on and coached up and I am sure they will make it a priority .

That said this guy does make me a little excited makes me think back to Preston Pearson coming out of the backfield on 3rd down.

This guy's got so much speed if he and Dak put some time in together this off season and really get on the same page it could be absolutely deadly.
You really got to pull up a corner back to try and cover him no linebacker is covering him and he has good hands

..Jaydon reminds me of NO Kamara. Good speed, hands and vision.

His speed will be the difference on offense. Especially on those tight 3rd downs.
Mannn.. if he turned out half as good as Kamara I would be happy.

I have seen a lot of Kamara and he is something else.

Jaydon Blue...

  • Can't run between the Tackles
  • Can't make tacklers miss
  • Can't break tackles
  • Can't be physical
  • Can't pass protect
  • Can't see the field well / no vision
  • Can't be a RB1
  • Can't be a 3 down RB

Hmm...let's see...

That first video is the only one I have time to watch right now. But watching the first half of it will do, since the second half seems to be the same plays, just from different angles.

Sounds good, Runny.

When you get a chance, check out the last video. The 3rd one I posted in my opening post. It's only 8+ minutes long, but Voch Lombardi (who is now employed by the Dallas Cowboys and comes out in one of their shows) does a quick film breakdown on Jaydon Blue. Hope you enjoy it. Have a good but safe day, brother.

Deuce is likely cut regardless. I think he sticks on the PS though.

I hope he does. I want to see him behind this OL and his former OL coach.
Agreed. Deuce Vaughn will likely get moved to the Practice Squad, but I hope he is one of the 3 on it who get protected from getting picked up by another team. Deuce has traits that can truly help running behind an improved Oline, especially if one of our 53 team roster RBs gets injured. Deuce's play is similar to Jaydon Blue's. Same type of use for both players.

I still believe in him. We never used him right. I'm hopeful the new OL coach can sing his praises to get him an opportunity.
