Question about Dallas Cowboys Ring Of Honor Futures

Ask Stephen. He likely already has the date picked out.
Jerry probably goes in posthumously - so, since he has a date picked out, what’s Stephen’s play here? And what’s he paying to carry out that play? I’m between jobs - just saying.

like to see some of coach landry's 'boys get in the ring:
de ed "too tall" jones
de harvey martin

☆the best of the best
☆had to play your entire career with dallas
☆had to be someone who was a leader in the community...not just on the field

he didn't want it to be all inclusive but very strict.

I would like to nominate Dak for ROH and HOF. It’s time to honor the generational type players before they retire.

Meh it's not gonna be a ring of honor for very long. It is going to be a ring of stat compiling losers.

Locks in the near future:
  • Jason Witten
  • Tony Romo
Locks in next decade:
  • Tyron Smith
  • Zack Martin
Witten, Smith and Martin are future NFL HOFers.
MAYBE Dez Bryant? Strong maybe there. His peak was short, but he was a first team all pro and a menace in his prime.

Jerry loves his #88s too.

To date, the ROH includes twenty-four inductees - twenty being players, the remaining four being coaches Landry and Johnson, GM Tex Schramm and the legendary scouting director Gil Brandt.

The last Cowboys PLAYER inducted was Demarcus Ware, who last wore the team colors in the 2013 season. Eleven seasons ago. Before HIM, Darren Woodson - who last wore the colors in 2003… twenty-one years ago.

Jason Witten, who last wore the colors in 2019, would seem a lock as the NEXT inductee. So, WHEN?

And we can reasonably speculate that Zack Martin will get some ROH run going forward.

Beyond the aforementioned players - who do YOU consider the favorite to merit ROH consideration in the future and why?
The ROH has never been about what the fans think so don't ask them because it doesn't matter. The only opinion that matters when it comes to the ROH is Jerry's as is evident by the far overdue enshrinement of Jimmy Johnson.

BULLET!
You forgot Rowdy. BTW, Romo should never get in.

No way in hell Romo deserves it. Come on, man. You gotta actually do something special to earn it. Danny White deserves it far more than Romo, and I don't think he should get in either.
You're right if Romo is in, Danny White should be too. I think Romo is in the camp of good Cowboys players that I enjoyed watching but are they historically great?

I do think he gets in for his Cowboys passing records and fact he's a household name for most casual football fans. However, I'm with you I don't know that he did anything historically great where he deserves his name next to the guys like Staubach and Aikman. Also if Romo is in than Dak is surely in too as they've followed very similar career trajectorys to this point.
