Question about Demarcus Ware?

I've googled numerous times but found no answer so I ask does anyone know if he's attempted or even talked about undergoing the stem-cell/blood spinning procedures that Peyton Manning had done?

I just refuse to believe this man's career is over at 31, he needs to go to Germany during the offseason and get himself back healthy again, with possibly moving back to the LB position to avoid anymore wear and tear.

I don't know what the guy is going to do, and I don't know what's going to happen this offseason, but I do agree that it would be pretty nuts if we are witnessing his true, actual decline, and that it's this rapid at the age of 31.

And you KNOW this is a guy who takes care of himself, and treats his body right. Definitely not an offseason party animal. Definitely a guy who takes pride in his craft. It's hard to imagine that he's falling apart like this.

I don't care what he does, but I hope he figures something out and can turn it around. One of the best pass rushers in modern football and one of my favorite Cowboys of all time. Dude is a class act.

I go back and forth between "trade ware while you can to save cap" or "he's a HOF, keep him in Dallas"

but, the more I think of it, the idiocy with surname of Jones will not make this a football team instead of a circus, so I think I would actually like to see him play for a contender before he is done

I think you have to cut him in the offseason. Don't assume that he will come back healthy next year and be different. That was supposed to be the case this year. Release him, let hatcher walk, and try to sign a couple decent free agents along the line and draft some there too.

The Cowboys need to cut him and move on. He has stinger/shoulder/neck issues last season and has them again this season. My understanding is that it is nerve damage and something he might never recover from.

The very best young free agent is unlikely to get paid as much as Ware is scheduled to make.

No team would trade for him with his salary. They could just sign a healthier and more productive Jared Allen if they want a veteran pass rusher without giving up draft picks. It's highly doubtful that Allen would get 12.25M in free agency.

I am shocked at how Ware has declined. Is his body betraying him or the combination of that, his ongoing divorce and the fact that street players and undrafted pickups are playing beside him? As far as his body he needs to do whatever it takes to get it healthy again as Ware is far,far too talented to be this bad this soon in his career. The wrong side of 30 is a description most often used on running backs not defensive ends.

I hate to agree with the knee jerk cut this or that player, but dudes been invisible. Unlees he comes up big in these last couple games and dare i say playoffs, i dont know how you justify keeping him.
We.ve had the worst defense ever with him, not sure how it could be worse without him

Ware could regain complete health during the offseason. I believe the more relevant question is what can he do to remain relatively healthy and revitalize his power game during the 2014 season.

Speed is not his issue. Not being able to dominate one-on-one matchups is.

Is he still wearing #94? Cuz it looks like someone else is wearing that number now.

I have no control over his injury, so I cannot make any intelligent comment on that aspect.

But watching him take himself out of games makes me ask the question, has he now succumb to the erosion of spirit this team has gone through.

Because to me, it looks like they have flat quit on Garrett.

Has Ware?

That's the first that I've heard about a divorce.

I would be shocked if Ware is done at age 31. I think he still has a few good years left in him. He just needs to get healthy and a new coach and culture wouldn't hurt either.

You have to compare Ware to the 25 to 27 year old free agent that you could get with his salary:
2014: 12.25M
2015: 13.75M
2016: 13M
2017: 13M

DeMarcus Ware, 2013 6 sacks

Cliff Avril, 2013 6M, 8 sacks
Michael Bennett, 2013 4.8M, 7.5 sacks
Total 10.8M, 15.5 sacks

Seattle made a good move getting those two guys. Didn't they get them both on cheap 1-2 year deals? I don't know why we can't do stuff like that. It seems like every time we get a free agent, it's 6 years for 60 million.

Seattle has a different approach to player acquisition. They look for cogs to fit into a well-oiled machine, not names to place on the back of jerseys at the merch store.

he still gets push and still chases down running backs. but qb's are getting rid of the ball quickly and rb's are running right up the gut. this defense needs help in both personnel and scheme.

... but if he cares about winning, he needs to give up some of that money and help bring some quality free agents in to help out.

It was 1 year for Bennett and 2 years for Avril.

You know..

They have tried that before with players but it never works.

When the back goes..its a death sentence.

Haley, Novechek, Moose, Randy White and quite a few other Cowboys left the game early with that.

I love Ware but the best thing to do is cut him and his cap slot needs to be applied to new players.

Sorry.

I just have no patience anymore with injured players who are being overpaid and spending too much time in the whirlpool.
