Question about Philly behavior

I agree. I'm astounded that fans can't even wear the visiting team's jersey without getting the hell beat out of them. That's totally inexcusable.

I know that place is a craphole and their fans pride themselves on acting like thugs, but this is still the USA, not some third-world banana republic.

You would be surprised what goes on in some very "cultured" parts of the world in regards to sports violence.

Its common, less common these days than in the past, for huge fights and a hostile atmosphere. Thats what makes it an away game.

There is a judge at the Philly home games who (when the philly fans get arrested) go ahead and work the case in the stadium.

That is the definition of bad fans.

If they wanted to stop it they could pretty easily. They just don't want to use the tactics it takes.

yeah, ok 50,000 plus? I don't think cops have that many personnel in one city, that's gonna be alot of tax-payer dollars spent

If necessary, the refs can penalize a team. The league can impose sanctions against the team if it is felt that the integrity of the game was threatened. I'm hoping that it does not come to that. Lots of smoke has been blown, but it remains to be seen if anything comes of it.
