If he's such a good blocker, put him on the O line.:D

Whattareyou, his mama?
The guy plays sparingly in two games and all of the sudden you make him out to be . . . Mr. All Pro McBlocker?

Give me a break.
Sparingly? Are you even watching the games?

What they claim is his contract. If we waive him and another team claims him off waivers, that makes him under contract to that team. He doesn't have a choice.

My understanding is that most players sign the contract because they'd rather be on the 53 man roster of another team than on the PS of the team that just cut them. But if Remi he knew he'd be on our 53 man roster immediately he wouldn't necessarily sign the other contract.

Regardless, if we wouldn't have to cut him, it's a meaningless conversation anyway.

As far as Remi is concerned, if he got cut a 2nd time, he would probably be thinking "They cut me twice and only want to resign me until Tank comes back when I'll be released again." and another club is probably the way to go.

I agree though, this is meaningless convo considering we don't have to release anyone.

Gotcha. That really sucks for the players. You'd think they would just go back to be free agents.

Got this from the Dallas News Blog.

Deadline on Tank Johnson

If the Cowboys want to sign Tank Johnson, they have to do it by 3 p.m. CDT.

According to the NFL's Senior Vice President of Public Relations Greg Aiello in an e-mail, the "requirement that a player be signed by Tuesday at 4 (EDT) is to normalize the rosters for the week."
Players are on rosters by Tuesday at 3 p.m. CDT get paid for that week even if they were cut later in the week. If the Cowboys sign Johnson today, they must release a player to make room on their 53-man roster for Johnson for at least one day before he would revert to their suspended list.
At issue is whether Johnson would be able to work out with the Cowboys. He could not practice or attend meetings, but if he is able to lift weights, then he would be able to get in better shape and be able to play quicker. If he cannot work out with the team, then in effect the suspension would be longer than eight games because he would need more time to get in shape.
