The chicken littles have swamped me. They might be right. And I respect their concerns.
But, uncouth lads, perhaps we should be looking for progress and not perfection.

My stats indicate the defense is still pretty below average at best. It's call the smell test, and something stinks about this defense.

The D does not feel like a D that gets a lot of sack or pressure...

2 players on the defensive line are on pace for 44 sacks combined. Only 2 teams had more sacks than that in 2016.

IMO, linebacker is your biggest need. Either Jaylon has as much improvement over the next offseason as he did this year or you need to draft one with your first pick. You're one Lee injury away from being a bottom 5 defense. Second round I go with a safety if there is one there.

One thing to remember is that this is a very, very young defense. Without Scandrick, most of the secondary is still pretty green.

Seems like the more guys we drop into coverage, the more confusion there is. Rush 4 or more and drop the rest.
