Question about the offense

I dont believe the ol-ine blocking is the biggest issue with this offense. I watch all the games i can and there are a lot of QB with the same pressure romo faces. Now today in the 2nd half there were a few passing downs were romo did get crushed due to missed blocks.

BUT why are we even in a must pass situation at home against the bucs who could not do squat against our defense.

Because the offense was BAD in the first half, and Romo had adequate time in the first half. What I saw in the first half and start of the 2nd half was dysfunctional offense where it seemed players were not in sync.

I read a review by couchscout where it was reported that it is purposeful that the cowboys let the clock run down before snapping the ball so that Romo can make pre snap reads and adjustments at the LOS. It was reported that some believe this is one of Romo's strengths, so it makes sense that a coach would play to his QB strengths.

From watching this game it appears that Romo makes his reads and at line adjustments ok......it also appears that the rest of the team at times is not on the same page with Romo after he makes adjustments.

Now I am not an expert but I can observe that the offense often looks helter skelter after romo's LOS adjustments or audibles. We had way to many false starts for an AT HOME game, it was obvious that wr were not on the same page as Romo and even Troy and Buck stated this. No wonder romo looks exacerbated at times.

SO... finally, my question about the offense.....Why are the wr running the wrong routes, out of sync with Romo for the past 2 years (not one or two games).

Is garrets offense complicated in that the wr also have option reads when an audible is called and all this play calling, then play changing or at LOS adjustments too much for the personnel that we have ? And if so will Garret change this ? And does it effect the O-Line blocking assignements when Romo makes all these adjustments and is that a difficulty?

I see the O-Line sucks threads have already started, but adding better O-Lineman will not help if the offense is still confused and not all on the same page.

Every game the cowboys offense is basically wasting downs and blowing plays (at least 5) before the ball is snapped due to mis communication or people not adjusting to Romos pre snap play changes.

They are beating themselves more than the other teams defense is beating them. I am wondering if the offense garret wants to run is too complicated for the personnel on this team OR is it just one that has so much chance for error that any team would struggle trying to run it ?

Because there are definitely a few plays where the other teams defense beats the cowboys offense, BUT there seem to be more plays were this offense beats itself.

Anyone who can offer some insight....please reply.

I think it has to do with a lot of the play calling. Garrett calls a two plays and when Romo gets to the line he audibles. There seems to an issue with the audibles and its causing confusion within the line. I don't know what it is but maybe they should make the play calling easier. Or just let Romo call the plays as he sees it. Even allow him to override the play calling.

It's a combination of both. These lineman are getting beat bad, regardless of the play call/audible. On the OL offside calls and the wr's not being on the same page as Tony... I think you nailed it.

But is it that hard to get evryone on the same page - im wondering if the adjustments call for the wr to make their own reads as far as in or out routes based on the audible and position of the defender - and maybe they just cant do it ?
