I live in the Northwest chicago burb of Grayslake. At 6:20 this morning it was 20 below with 11 MPH winds. According to the wind chill map, that would make it about 40 below.

At these temps, exposed skin can become frostbitten in a matter of minutes. I'm a Georgia native, so this...how shall I put it...SUCKS.

Im a chicago native and ill still say it sucks lol i wish i were in arizona where we were supposta move (phoenix) its 70 something :bang2:

WHAT??? -30 REAL??? Dude, why are you in Alaska? WOW.......

I'm in the Air Force, and it's not THAT cold all the time. There is practically no wind or precip when it's that cold, and it's an extremely dry cold. When the military pays $3500 in monthly housing allowance/cost of living, and Alaska pays us over $13,000 a year from the dividend, it sure does seem a whole lot warmer.

The flying up here is absolutely beautiful, the mountains never stop, the fishing is unreal, 50 lb king salmon, 159 lb halibut have all been added to our fishing records. An average fish up here is two feet long, and the record Rainbow trout out of the Kenai river is.....

FORTY TWO POUNDS!!!!

ShotGun, I'm actually headed to Georgia this summer, and I will be looking forward to the warm sun most of the year.

Once upon a time.. Left-handed people were called and considered "********" before that all became politically incorrect. Do we know why? Because the numbers are literally so few in comparison (similar to those distinctly classified with "mental retardation") and they think with the opposite side of their brain, which is not the norm either. And this is the way it was throughout history before America came along and changed that perception.

So the question begs.. Which team has the most left-handed fans does one think? Gotta be the Feagles, the Feelers or the Gints, I'd say. 15 years ago it was the Whiners and the Hackers, obviously though. Lol. They're just all special. Lol.

We're checking in at a warm 38 here in Big "D".

Hey, you think we're happy down here in Texas with our 105 degree temp, with a heat index of 115, no clouds and no wind? I'm sorry, wrong thread. ;)

I'd take your lack of variety over the 42°F here in Atlanta.

Actually, I understand where' you are coming from. I really like the seasons changing, and I would quickly grow tired of the constancy of Hawaii weather - beautiful though it may be. I've had family who have lived there who said the same thing.

It's not the change in seasons, it's that there's SO MUCH winter up here. Much more than I expected. Last year we had some 74 inches of snow. This year, I believe we've had somewhere close to 55-60 inches and it's only mid-January. It's friggin arctic up here.

People weren't meant to live this way!

But a 42 pound rainbow trout would be delish!

Just jumping on the bandwagon for asking questions of a very narrow audience.

Ummm, so, then...

How much could we get for Bobby Carpenter in a trade? Six pack of beer? 8 feet of beef jerky? A used leather belt?

Forgive me in advance. Punchy this morning in the -50 degree weather.

I heard Jeff Garcia wants him to be his roommate throughout the season ever since he caught Barbie putting his hair in a bun. Maybe we can get Tampa to give us a 2099 7th round pick in return conditional on Barbie being Garcia's roommate throughout the remainder of his career. Of course the team might move elsewhere and we're stuck getting crap but who cares, just get rid of him. I'll give a 7th rounder for someone to take him.

It's supposed to be 67 degrees in sunny central Texas today...

I'd love to swap somebody some rain for some of our sunny decent weather, it hasn't rained for anything measurable here since October. Guess I'll keep hoping... Heck even washing the car hasn't helped... sigh

It's drier than a popcorn fart here.
