Question for the Romo fans

romo is a QB who will throw 5 picks in one game, 3 in another.

He cannot be counted on to be steady like an Aikman.
Yes, statistically brilliant. And year after year we sit watching other teams in the playoffs, soothed by the notion that he is a top 10 QB. Good for him, not so good for Cowboys fans.

Time to move on from this inconsistent, snake-bit QB.

Disingenuous argument and you cherry picked lazy stats. What is it five picks? Or is it three? In how many games? Do other QB:s have those types of games or just Romo. Steady like Aikman who threw 25 - 30 times a game instead of Romo having to put it up 60? Okay, since you did not feel like doing the work I did it for you.

NY 22-29 - 307 W
PH 19-26 - 209 W
PH 22-27 - 303 W

NY 36-62 437 L
Wa 37-62 441 L

Steady like that? How about addressing watching other teams like Atlanta in the playoffs year after year where Matt Ryan has yet to do anything?

I expect more from you than a drive by post like that. That being said there are some Romo haters who are getting shut down in this entire thread. At the end of the day he is good for us until he gets some help and his career is written.

Noone does, but at 2" taller and a higher release point he's better equipped.

Just a theory. People seem to be baffled at why Vick takes so much punishment - he puts his Oline in bad situations sometimes because he has to hold it longer because of his height at times when a taller QB may be able to see the quick route over the middle and have the confidence to throw it because their field of vision is mostly clear. I think that may affect Romo sometimes, but I'm just guessing.

I saw the post game pic of Romo and RG3 and was amazed how muck taller and bigger Romo looked then him. No correlation with your topic, but still thought it was weird as I've never thought of Tony as a big guy.

They're both 6'2"

I'm guessing with Orton's lack of mobility, and how bad our OL was in containing rushers, that is a factor. Romo made alot of play's outside the pocket, avoiding the rush.

Rushing correlates less to winning but we were next to last in the league in rushing offense. The bottom 5 - oh look, it's oakland, jax and arizona with Atlanta thrown in.
Don't forget rushing touchdowns. Touchdowns correlate to winning.

Bottom 5 Teams
Fewest Rushing TD, 2011-12 (W-L Record)

28th Cle 16 (9-23)*
29th Jax 14 (7-25)*
30th Kan 14 (9-23)*
31st Dal 13 (16-16)
32nd StL 12 (9-22-1)

*fired HC and/or GM

Wow...how were the Cowboys even sniffing the playoffs?

Oh wait...

That's always the issue with ufc.
1 bad game = 6 or 7
6-7 good games = 1

Now that he has another game to add to the 5-6 others (out of maybe 70 games or so) he's been permanently branding to Romo for life, he'll ride it for another 2-3 years at least. Romo could string together 8-9 great games in a row and then have a dud and that's all the proof this guy needs.
It has never changed since he's been posting on this topic.

Yup, I have been consistent in my disdain for Romo because he is ONE of the reasons my team chokes. People like you have been changing your minds. You haven't yet but plenty of other blind homers are having a very difficult time defending Romo and are jumping ship to my side. You will too.. just give it time.

I've read on here so many times that without Romo, we're anywhere from a 2-14 to 5-11 team. Tony is the only reason we were able to stay in contention down to the final Sunday.

What are you basing this on? Are you saying that there is no QB out there that could have taken us to as good as of a record? No RGIII, Cam, Stafford, Ryan, Brady, Peyton, Eli, Ben, Luck? None of these QB's could have done as well on this team as Romo did?

Or are you saying, that with Orton, and only Orton, we would have fared worse?

Just curious as to how delirious some of you really are!
Can any of those guys tackle? :)

I just played Romo on another team (Bengals) in Madden and he beat the Cowboys with Brady as the QB. Go figure? I admit Romo is part of the problem, but with a better OL, defensive line, and play calling we could overcome his mistakes.

85 Bears and Romo could take us to the superbowl.

I'm all for Romo, but is this a serious argument? Maybe my sarcasm meter needs servicing.

They'd win it by 3 touchdowns. The 85 Bears had 22 more interceptions than the 2012 and 2011 Cowboys combined.
