No, it's really not. No scheme will work w/o talent. It’s about the scheme as much as talent, going to have to wait and see about this one

Right and to see the effects of both players along with the draft picks. As far as giving up too much, that is completely depdendent on who else we get.

Disagree. We traded major assets for a player approaching 30. Putting enough talent around him means everything. So, what we get w/ our other picks makes the trade for Q good or bad. So, it really is.No, it’s really not
We gave up assets for Q
We got Q for #44 this year and our better first next year
What we get with our other picks has nothing done to do with the Jets trade
That’s quite a reachDisagree. We traded major assets for a player approaching 30. Putting enough talent around him means everything. So, what we get w/ our other picks makes the trade for Q good or bad. So, it really is.
Of course. It seems like an overpay, but if we can put enough talent around him to get to the super bowl, guess it wasn't!!!!That’s quite a reach
Like this
We can’t really know if Dak’s contract is an overpay until we finish this draft to see what we put around him. Only then will we see all elements of the plan come together
Yes, but we have the talent, so that wasn’t the subjectNo, it's really not. No scheme will work w/o talent.
We are getting there, but no, we do not have the talent yet.Yes, but we have the talent, so that wasn’t the subject
IMO both are over paid and past there prime. Both are being paid on their name and past efforts. Now saying that i believe in our Defense Williams has a chance to to do something special this year if we can get the edge rusher right. It will free him up more to be 1 vs 1 and allow him to penetrate and get to the RB/QB in the back field.Without being Cowboy biased, who got the best DT? Cincinnati with Lawrence or Dallas with Williams. I really like both and honestly don't know who is better. Thoughts?
But that wasn’t what I was responding to. We have talent on the defensive tackle position. The rest of the defense not yet.We are getting there, but no, we do not have the talent yet.
Why do you think we have the talent? The majority of fans don't, so what is it?
They play different positions with different responsibilities.Without being Cowboy biased, who got the best DT? Cincinnati with Lawrence or Dallas with Williams. I really like both and honestly don't know who is better. Thoughts?
Got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!But that wasn’t what I was responding to. We have talent on the defensive tackle position. The rest of the defense not yet.
Broaddus is claiming his sources told him that the Bengals were going to reach for Peter Woods with the 10th pick until that deal happened. They play different positions with different responsibilities.
It's almost like trying to compare a tackle to guard.
A better comparison would be
Williams to Jalen Carter.
Lawrence to Daron Payne!
Reading some of media talk out of Cincinnati a day or 2 before, there was a good bit of concern blowing another 1st round pick as they've been apt to do.
It seems they panicked and offered way to much compensation for a possibly declining player, who had little interest from anyone else and that the Giants had to move as their relationship had broken down with the player!
Bengals should have held pat at a 2nd... Giants didn't have any leverage!
Hmmm... that's really difficult to believe.Broaddus is claiming his sources told him that the Bengals were going to reach for Peter Woods with the 10th pick until that deal happened.
Woods looks good on paper. The D he was on didn't do him any favors w/ all the stunts they ran.Hmmm... that's really difficult to believe.
Woods is a 3 tech with really poor production.
They already had Johnathan Allen, BJ Hill and Kris Jenkins (2nd 2024) for that position.
They had TJ Slaton penciled in as their starting 1 tech!
He's looked good on paper for 3 seasons.Woods looks good on paper. The D he was on didn't do him any favors w/ all the stunts they ran.
I'm not a Clemson fan, have they been running that same D all 3 years? Woods wouldn't be the first college player who was limited by scheme. W/ his burst, agility, and freakish speed for his size, his floor is actually high. I think you may be underrating him. He's looked good on paper for 3 seasons.
Nothing ever materialized!
