You often say things that are not true and you need to stop spreading false information. If it's just your opinion that they won't waste an IR designation to return on Rico then include an "IMO". Otherwise it sounds like you are speaking as though you have factual information that you heard from some reliable source. I have heard the Cowboy's media guys talking quite a lot about the likelihood of the Cowboys using an IR designation to return on Rico so unless you have a source that knows otherwise, I believe the Cowboy's media guys over you. If he's going on IR it should happen some time today.

You no longer are required to designate players as IR to return. They just go on IR and you can have up to 2 players return to the 53 from IR per season.

So-- if they put Rico on IR tomorrow they do not have to decide to bring him back or not yet.

In fact-- this designation feels like a "stash" move to me--a way to keep him on the roster another year for development and protecting him from being plucked by another team.

Same here bleu star of J- train fame!,,, yet, I'm of grave concern the Rico might be a bit fragile in the cranial casing-liner and I would never wish to see a career ending hit on him out on the field of battle!
( man, we all know his story, superb athlete, young married man with another addition to the house,,, throws his football hat into the ring for a shot at financial life long security!

Maybe squirrel him away for the first part of the season till it's clear what's playing out with the team and if the defense is a viable unit for the deep run into the playoffs, if not ? DON'T launch this dude's rocket just yeto_O

Really? It's clearly an opinion. In no way do I read that as a fact.

How is it clearly an opinion? Maybe he heard a Cowboys executive say it as fact and was passing that info on to us.

Clearly that is not what he/she was saying or doing. You even know it by saying he/she should use IMO. I in no way do I undersrand or see why anyone would take that as a fact. And in no way do I want to see IMO every time some makes an opinion on this website. But I guess that's just my opinion.

Maybe it's a fact. We don't know maybe he has insider information. We should wait and see because we don't know if this is an opinion or a fact..... I kid I kid.
But seriously I don't see why this opinion is bad or why anyone would think it's uninformed. I agree with the opinion 100% why would the Cowboys waste the IR designation to return on Rico Gathers? The guy hasn't proven anything yet. If the Cowboys do in fact use it on Gathers then I would consider us to be EXTREMELY lucky. It would mean we haven't had any major injuries (or worse we have had significant injuries with no chance at a return). I would actually like to see Gathers just put on IR and not return this season. Would be nice to hold him let him develop while not wasting a roster spot on him. But if I were Rico I would be really upset at a move like that.

Did you not see the TD's in multiple games he had before he got hurt or has the few weeks he's been hurt allowed you to forget about that? He was flat out balling before the concussion so that's why they would want him back off IR at some point in the season. Like the terminator... he'll be back!!!
