Question: was the last game vs the Eagles considered a big game?

What I want to know is this. How is it Romo won the game when I've been told repeatedly that it's a team game?
To answer your question, it was a big game. But it means nothing if you don't win out. True statement.

Yep - That is an absolutely fair statement because you're right, you can't have it both ways. So the answer is yes, it is a team game and everybody deserves credit for the win, not just Tony. The game also showed the season has been a start reminder of what we could've been over Romo's career.

What is undeniable and indisputable is this. We have a shot with any other player on the team going down.

We have no shot if Romo goes down and thus his significance in every game.

To be honest, there's really only one poster who can answer the question and thats our resident big game expert KJJ. He could tell us if it truly was a big game. One of those elimination games or do or die games, or win or go home games, or a spotlight game, or one of those big TV audience games where Romo tends to choke under the pressure of a bigger audience watching.

Im gonna go out on a limb here and say our resident expert would say it wasnt a big game if for some reason Philly loses to the Skins and Dallas beats Indy. See, if Philly loses Saturday and we win, then there is no pressure on the Cowboys because its not a do or die game situation and if we win, then that means we won a non spotlight game that didnt matter most even tho we would win the division so essentially we would coast backwards into the division title in spite of having Romo as our QB who isnt clutch like E-Lie so we would win the division w/o having to play a big spotlight game that mattered most down the stretch.

To his credit I asked KJJ in the Seattle game thread towards the end if that game was a spotlight game and emphatically said yes - it was.

I'm pretty sure he would say Philly was too.

The reverse is also true................I have read on here a million times................

"Romo cant win elimination games" when the team loses.

However, when the team wins, "its a team game".........................................................................................I guess it depends on the agenda of the poster.

So this will be your perspective the next time Romo throws 2 picks and the Cowboys lose? Bull.

Yea, the anti-Romo crowd will chalk up the next loss in which Romo throws multiple picks................."a team loss"

And if anybody actually believes that, I got some ocean front property in Austin to sell you.

It was a win or go home more or less.

With that said, no it wasn't a big game. Not even close ;)

if the Cowboys lose to the Colts. The media will say " Romo still can't seem to win a big game" .

Teams win games. QBs are the most important players on most teams. But Tony's also played as well as he did last Sunday in losing efforts. You really do need to both pass effectively and stop the pass effectively to win consistently in the NFL.

If you look at the delta between the pre and post game odds of getting into the playoffs, you will have your answer. True this week and probably next.

Yes, it was a big game no doubt and romo had a very big part in the win

It is a team game, His OL blocked for him and Dez went out and made the catches, no drops, no lights in his eye, no wrong routs. Amazing what can happen when other step up and do their jobs.
Not to mention the defense after we took the lead decided to play some ball getting 2 turnovers and getting after Sanchez to help seal the deal.

You are right Romo did not block for himself, he did not catch 1 ball but when others do he and this team can win big games.
