Jason Garrett on Dez Bryant: "He's had a good few days. He's making progress." Don't know if he'll practice tomorrow
It took 5 and a half minutes before Jason Garrett fielded a non Dez Bryant question
Randy Gregory will practice tomorrow

Jason Garrett says he doesn't know if Dez will practice tomorrow. They'll see how he handles today's workload.
Lest there be any doubt about what a high profile player he is, every question for the first 6 minutes of Garrett's presser was about Dez.

Garrett: "We're not gonna make any determination today about whether or not Dez Bryant's gonna play in this game." Day to day process.
Garrett on Cassel welcoming a new baby: "He had a huge smile on his face. He was really pleased with the timing of everything."

Having medical clearance indicates it's all about Dez dealing with pain at this point. And perhaps strength of the ankle/foot, but that's just me speculating. Interesting. Still think this is a true "gametime decision". He will travel and decision will be made Sunday morning.

Did they practice today? Usually I see some media tweets from the early portion of practice but didn't see any come across today.

So that is why JJ made his comments.. That is awesome! Dez is all heart... Anyone that can't see that and questions this kid needs to check themselves at the door. I have very little doubt he will not play. That along should inspire this team!

Sounds better and better about Dez's chances this week.

I personally don't think he'll be ready to play this week due to a lack of conditioning, but hearing that he is medically cleared is significant. That said, Dez is definitely a different breed, so I would not count him out until he's out. If he's ready, he'll play. Otherwise, we'll see him next week.

Thanks WG...I've been waiting all day to hear what the happenings were with Dez.

If he is medically cleared which Garrett said he was, then that means his bone is fully healed. Now it's just a matter of pain, mobility and how tender the foot is I would guess.

Good to hear that he has been cleared.

I do not see Bryant playing this game. but if he does he probably will not play much since his conditioning might not be at football shape.

Even if he's not in shape, he should be able to go part time. A series here, a series there, red zone, etc. I'm curious if Garrett's comments were saying he was cleared to do the drills he has been doing, or cleared for full go.

Why didn't Cassell name his kid Dez? Not much of a team player...

Probably because he wants his son to be taken seriously in college, graduate school, law school and the business world. Dez is a good athlete or entertainer name not so much a corporate attorney.

I think he meant Dez was cleared to play (medically), but I think Garrett has to feel like Dez is ready before he'll put him out there. Being cleared to play and being ready to play are different things.

I have no doubt about Dez being able to deal with the pain.

Medically cleared? He's playing then.

I'd wager most of his weekend was conditioning after being cleared.

I'd be really surprised if he wasn't playing this week since there's basically no chance of aggravating the injury. He'll pop some ibuprofen, maybe take a prescribed happy pill or two, and he'll be out there.

Well his real name is Desmond Bryant if that makes it sound more professional to you. I fail to see how a name has anything to do with what profession he's best suited for.

Even if Dez does play, I think he'll probably be used more in the capacity of a decoy than anything else. As lacking as he is in proving himself a game-ready product right now, It's extremely difficult for me to picture him being anywhere near capable of approaching his pre-injury abilities. I'd betcha his reps would be extremely limited as well. All in all, it just seems to me what little he'd be able to do may not be worth the risk.
