Pick any year!We needed a pick like this following the 2016 season.

Of course it’s not a sure thing, it’s a prediction based in what I’ve seen of Mazi’s play and how I project Toia. I also like Polynesian players, their culture lends itself to producing very successful NFL players for various reasons. While that's not "saying a ton", that still doesnt make it definite he will be better. Let's see the 7th round pick play a few downs of even NFL preseason football first.
He could be. He had some injuries early on but he has talent. We have some guys on the defensive front who can get after the QB. And in this scheme it seems the LB is really the key to stopping the run. We have some young, athletic LB on the roster. If they can be solid at reading the play and being in the right hole we could be better on run defense. But the biggest thing that’s gonna help our run defense is offense. Score enough and teams won’t be running as much. Get a lead and pass rush gets better. Fix our redzone offense is really importantThat's right. He may be better at the run in this system too.
The defensive ends, LBs and DTs all play a role in stopping the run. They all work together to sort of create chaos along the line and clog the lanes... line backers stunt or clean up.He could be. Just wanted to add this if you haven't seen it.He could be. He had some injuries early on but he has talent. We have some guys on the defensive front who can get after the QB. Giving up leads late may have as much to do with the offense they had as the D. Offense has to control the clock and keep pushing the ball down the field. One thing about this team is you only need to get close to mid field to add the those late game leads because 60 yd FG is very doableThe defensive ends, LBs and DTs all play a role in stopping the run. I actually like how Eberflus approaches stopping the run. Very cool scheme. It's biggest downfall is sometimes giving up leads later in the game. But we should also have an improved offense as well.
Eberflus doesn't rely on DTs as much as previous Dallas coaches to stop the run.
Dallas doesn't have luck with them. Anae, Simi fehoko, villami fehoko. I wouldn't say they have some type of positive hit rate just because of a few guysOf course it’s not a sure thing, it’s a prediction based in what I’ve seen of Mazi’s play and how I project Toia. That's because we are terrible at analyzing players and how their skillset will fit in the NFL.Dallas doesn't have luck with them. Anae, Simi fehoko, villami fehoko. I wouldn't say they have some type of positive hit rate just because of a few guys
We do but my point was I dint think polys have a high hit rate like that poster was stating. We did seem to hit with liafau though. Forgot about himThat's because we are terrible at analyzing players and how their skillset will fit in the NFL.
They seem to be able to stay healthy. I think it goes to simple genetics. We do but my point was I dint think polys have a high hit rate like that poster was stating. We did seem to hit with liafau though. Forgot about him
All college player hit rates are low in the NFL that’s why the average career is 3 years long.We do but my point was I dint think polys have a high hit rate like that poster was stating. We did seem to hit with liafau though. Forgot about him
Genetics helps but there’s really more to it. Lived in Hawaii and was close with several Samoan guys that constantly talked about how letting down your family name is the worst thing you can do. There is also a deep respect ingrained for elders which translates into being a good teammate and student of the game. They seem to be able to stay healthy. I think it goes to simple genetics.
The 3T in this scheme is the most important position. They could have drafted one early, but there is usually a steep learning curve at the position. He does, but he's an average run defender, and that is my issue with bringing him back, especially for $20M. Hell, I think you and many others preferred 3T at 12 over Booker, one who could rush the passer AND defend the run at a high level. So you were getting a cheaper player who could do both. Unless we are underestimating Osa's strength as a run defender.
I'm sure McClay and the Cowboy coaches knew exactly what the draft offered before signing Osa, but they did it anyway.
got news for youThe defensive ends, LBs and DTs all play a role in stopping the run. They all work together to sort of create chaos along the line and clog the lanes... line backers stunt or clean up.
