Quick thought on Mays

So I'm getting nervous about us drafting Taylor Mays and I just thought about something.

Pete Carroll. Coached him his whole college career. If we passes on him twice, especially at 13, doesn't that tell you something? If he was so good, why wouldn't Pete make a case for him in the war room? I mean, he's literally seen him up close and personal.

If we slips out of the first and Seattle STILL passes him with their second I would think red flags would have to going off. That would make me real suspicious with Pete passing him up 3 times when they have a strong need for safety.

Mays isn't falling out of the first, guaranteed. And if he's there at 27, Jerry is pulling the trigger, which is a sad thought.

Damn, my knees are knockin!

I'll be honest with ya man. I cant guarantee it and I'll never proclaim to be a insider but I know enough people that are and I get enough (not nearly as much as I would like) tidbits to draw a pretty secure conclusion that Taylor Mays is not on the Cowboys radar in the 1st round.

I'm not going to say they wont take a look at the kid but from everything I understand, he offers nothing that Dallas is looking for.

Yep. 2nd round and possibly as an ILB, but not 1st round.

yeah, that's kind of where I was going with that. From what I understand that discussion has already taken place amongst the Cowboys staff as a "what if" scenario but not a 1st round "what if". lol

I want us to keep Hamlin and draft Mays in the 1st, trade up for him in fact. Just to see SLATE meltdown. That would be epic.

I honestly think they feel ILB is a bigger need than Safety anyway. The reason is age. Everywhere on the team that you see a 30+ player there needs to be a viable backup plan in place.

None will ever top the show jdnalls put on when we drafted Terence Newman. I often wonder how he feels about Leftwich now.

I miss jd. I heard he can't stand me nowadays. No idea what I ever did to him, but oh well.

Thats why I think it's going to be a terribly disappointing draft for the Hamlin haters, WR lovers and sexy pick supporters. Despite what I put in my mocks (granted any mock is 50% hope) I think this draft is going be filled with OL and front 7 players on defense.

I would love that.

And I'd love to see the nalls meltdown as well. That must've been just before when I started posting a lot here.

I do remember sbk telling me that Derrick Strait would be just as good as Terence Newman... LOL.
