Quick thought on Mays

The more I think about it, I wouldn't mind giving Mays a shot at FS. He could be coached up, and be real effective there. Maybe like a Sean Taylor. The potential is definitely there. In zone I think he could be effective. Thats just me though.

Thats why I think it's going to be a terribly disappointing draft for the Hamlin haters, WR lovers and sexy pick supporters. Despite what I put in my mocks (granted any mock is 50% hope) I think this draft is going be filled with OL and front 7 players on defense.

I would love that.

Give me Pouncey and Ducasse and I'll be content

We'll go WR in the 3rd or 4th. I'd bet the house on that.

The consensus is the OL needs a serious infusion of young talent. Only a chode would disagree.

I do want a slot WR who can return kicks. But Im thinking our returner could come from w/e DB we draft.

Thats why I think Akoni-Awasa-Onsah is one of our favorites. Along w/ Iupati and Pouncey. I dont know which DL they prefer, I kinda liked Linval Joeseph but he may be rising too fast now

It was in the chat room unfortunately. Ask anyone who was there though and they will tell you, it was hilarious. jdnalls was a good dude, but he hated the idea of Newman. I think he'd have tolerated Suggs, who was my choice, but he wanted Leftwich in the worst way. I think I laughed for 10 straight minutes.

Funnier than Mikey being all Leftwich > Newmy up until like 2 years ago?

I honestly think they feel ILB is a bigger need than Safety anyway. The reason is age. Everywhere on the team that you see a 30+ player there needs to be a viable backup plan in place.
give me a % on the chances we look at Atogwe in your opinion?

Oh I agree - even tho I don't know who is out there at ILB - I have no ISB on my mock

unless the trade up or Spikes take a hard fall

ISLB Danny Batten/LB/South Dakota State: 6-3 #250 this guy intiques me

02/04/2010 - Texas vs. the Nation, Wednesday: South Dakota State's Danny Batten played inside and outside linebacker this week and might have sealed a draft spot with his ability to handle anything thrown his way. - Chad Reuter,

Chicago already has date set with him

The Bears always are looking for linebackers who can run and defensive backs who are physical to stock their special teams.
Munoz is the fifth prospect known to be scheduled to travel to Lake Forest later this month. He joins Utah safety Robert Johnson, TCU offensive tackle Nic Richmond, Cincinnati offensive tackle Jeff Linkenbach and South Dakota State defensive end Danny Batten

an this I think your thinking on the safety position is correct - draft a CB that can play FS

FS/CB Myron Lewis, CB/FS, Vanderbilt Height: 6-2. Weight: 203
CB Amari Spievey, Iowa Height: 5-11. Weight: 195

I have only NBA sources but Ill answer. I think Jerry hinted at making a move. If Earl Thomas isnt there at 27 I think we get Atogwe.

He very much wants a playmaking safety and a returner.

Which is why any mock w/ us taking a WR or DB w/o return skills isnt realistic

I agree give me someone who can return

because I don't want to see Felix out there returning any kicks this year - just hand an pass him the rock

or run out bounds Crayton

20% at best.

Let's face it, he is coming off an injury and is not cleared yet to play. I know Hamlin is persona non grata, but most teams will take a healthy Hamlin over an injured anybody. Until he can pass a physical, I don't think any team will be interested. In the meantime there is a Draft. If we are that desperate for a Safety, there's the opportunity.

What if Pete doesn't think he is worth a 1st rounder?

Passing on a guy doesn't mean you think he's ****.

Hamlin wasn't exactly toast every week.

If ILB is on the radar and I believe that Jason Williams is better suited to replace / backup Keith Brooking??? Who would we be looking at to replace / backup Bradie James?

I think a lot of safeties could do what Hamlin does. I dont know if Atogwe can, Ive barely seen him but I trust our execs on that. Making the pseudo trade of Ham for Atogwe means we can keep Ball at CB and push CB as a draft need down 1 notch

I think the issue is more along the lines of him not being anything special.

He doesn't make plays. Not giving up plays isn't exactly fantastic when you have damn good CBs working with you.

And the best pure pressure in the NFL. Also if we get out his deal before June 1 we save money down the line.
