Was just flipping through sport’s radio stations and heard the end of a convo saying Pittsburgh interested in trading Najee Harris before the draft. Would y’all do it for a 3-5th rounder?

Made me think which other guys are on the last year of their contract that could be dealt before draft day. Or, which teams are gonna go into sale mode to stock up for picks before the draft?

Be realistic and tell us who’s out there that you wouldn’t mind investing in for a 2-4 round pick before the draft.

No to Harris. Especially in a contract year. He looked good coming out of College. But he has not done a lot so it seems in the NFL.
I think he may be a bit injury prone as well.

If we are going to spend any draft capital on these type of players, find a DT, OL, LB or even a WR.

5th round pick. yes. not a 3rd. and then cut zeke. and not sign Pollard to a large contract. if he wants a top 5 type contract, make it so that you walk away in 2 years else walk away.

He is not in the last year of his contract. He has two years and an option year left.

Ask yourself why are the Steelers trying to unload Harris. They see this large group of quality RBs, and want to get extra picks n save money by giving up Harris. This is how a smart FO moves.

Dallas should be doing the same thing by unloading Zeke and drafting a RB. Too many good RBs in this draft.

And so it begins. A solid month of FA additions discussion only to watch them do nothing.

Groundhog Day is tomorrow, boys.
It's fun to speculate as long as you don't get your hopes up

Hard pass! He’s averaged 3.9 and 3.8 ypc his 2 years in the league. Should be able to get better production with a pick in those rounds at a lower cap hit. The grass ain’t always greener on the other side and a player isn’t good just because you’ve heard his name!!!

I would do it for a 5th and still look to
draft another RB in the 3rd-5th rounds. Cut Zeke, don’t re-sign Pollard and use the cap space elsewhere, like LG or DT.

While I can't really be upset if the Cowboys give up a 5th rounder for the guy, I dont see the point. He is a first rounder so his cap hit isn't a total no factor. I see the upside as he could be a diamond in the rough basically being on one of the worst offenses in football. Still it feels smarter and safer to me to dedicate that pick 3-5 to a RB in those rounds.

I become more interested if the Cowboys are planning to let Tony Pollard walk in free agency, then they probably need to make a trade/fa signing for a veteran RB to pair with a rookie and Harris starts to become an intriguing name. I don't see that happening though.

Najee Harris has 2 years (not including a 5th-year rookie option) remaining on his deal which pays him $3.5M in 2023 & $4.1M in 2024.

He has put up back to back 1,000 yard and 7 TD seasons and is a decent pass catcher out of the backfield.......so why would the Steelers want to part with him????

Talk earlier in the season was that the Steelers could potentially expect a 3rd round that could turn into a 2nd round for Harris based on performances.

Again, not saying Pittsburgh would actually trade Harris but in the hypothetical, acquiring Harris for a conditional 3rd would be a viable option for Dallas......figuring also that Dallas releases Zeke as a post-June 1st cap hit to save almost $11M against the cap in 2023 and resigns Pollard to say a 1-year $6M prove it deal based on his injury......but again, why would the Steelers trade Harris?

I don't have the energy.

It's about as useful as planning what you'll do with your upcoming lottery winnings.
You’re literally in this room 16-18 hours a day. Talking about this stuff provides you with job security. Even if it’s a
“work for free” position .
