NFL Feature about Quincy Carter Monday on NFLN

05/03/2007 8:32 AM

The NFL Network's story about Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings' quarterback Quincy Carter has been re-scheduled, and now is slated to be shown during Monday's (May 7) broadcast of "NFL Total Access." The series airs at 6:00pm Central Time and is replayed several times subsequently.

A crew from the NFL Network spent the day in Bossier City Tuesday, preparing the piece. "We expect this to be a positive story about Quincy and the Battlewings," said head coach Jon Norris.

The presence of Carter, a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, on the Battlewings' roster continues to bring a level of attention to the af2 club which has not been experienced in the past. During training camp, ESPN's "Outside the Lines" aired a story about Carter. Representatives from several Dallas-Ft. Worth publications have come to town to chronicle Carter's foray into Arena Football.

Through four games, Carter has completed 82 of 127 pass attempts for 1063 yards and 24 touchdowns. He has thrown three interceptions. In his first road game, Carter tied a franchise record by throwing seven touchdown passes against the Rio Grande Valley Dorados. That included a victory-clinching touchdown toss with just 2.9 seconds showing on the clock. "Quincy is having a lot of fun playing this game," Norris said. "He's like a kid with a video game. That being said, he's still learning. I only expect him to get better as the season progresses."

The Battlewings are undefeated through four games to start the 2007 season. The will play the Corpus Christi Sharks in Corpus Christi Saturday night. You can listen to a broadcast of the game on am1130 KWKH or on-line at www.kwkhonline.com.

Reruns of "Green Acres" should get higher ratings.

"AF2 is the place for me.
Semi-pro livin' is the life for me.
Casinos spreadin' out so far and wide
Keep Dallas, just give me that downside.

Bossier City is where I'd rather stay.
I get allergic not smelling pot, okay?
I just adore a basement view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Jewella Avenue.

The herbs.
The curbs.
Reefer air.
Village Square.

Pot is my vice.
Good bye, NFL life.
AF2 we are there!"

T.O writes a childrens book, and now they are going to make a cartoon about QC?

Thanks for the heads up! What time is it on again? Let me know so that I can go outside and mow the grass or wash the Jeep.

I'll bet you anything no blame gets tossed and the whole segment is positive. Remember, this is a guy trying to one day make it back to the big leagues. He knows people will be watching his every move and word. Whether he'll ever get back to the bigs... that's largely debatable. However, in his mind, he is probably determined to prove a lot of people wrong about him.

I, personally, see him having a long career in the AFL but the NFL is a crap shoot at this moment in time. He burned quite a few of the NFL bridges and I don't know if there are any left for him to cross.

What has the "Q" done to deserve a feature, it's not like he had HoF potental and one time or anything close. I bet if he had been drafted by anyone other than the Dallas Cowboys, folks would be askin' "who"?

That would be the smart thing to do, but QuINTsy isn't smart. It is most likely that he will "Run It In The Ditch" If there are odds in Vegas on him Cowboy bashing, take the "OVER". It should be a safe bet.

Exactly. That's just the media trying to stir up crap. Be on the lookout for more, "Where Are The Nonachievers At Now?" television shows. I'll doubt that you'll find very many (if any).

I hope he continues to stay out of trouble...

I hope he does too. What is strange to me is that quote that "he is still learning". I know we learn something every day, but after playing in the NFL, AFL2 should be a piece of cake, although the field is shorter and the rules are different.

I hope their next stop is Minnesota Vikings mini-camp to doa segement on Drew Henson.........Atleast he had "IT" or whatever the QB gurus can see in QBs before they prove their worth.

I mean while their at it why don' they track down every QB that took a snap after 8ball retired.

I'd luv a cribs type segment with Tony Banks.......

Or maybe we can get them to do a Ryan Leaf feature. Isn't he coaching High School football. I'd like to see the guy unload on some 16 year old. His lockeroom meltdown was classic.

How about Clint Stoerner? Isn't he in the AFL too. Didn't he also have a great game @ NY ooooooops I mean great half.

How about Vinny, I'd like to see a segment with Testervade squating 1000lbs in his basement. That a positive thing. Methuselah showing the kid show it's done.

I have no idea why I am bothering to answer this obvious troll post, but in no particular order here goes...

Quincy Carter is in AFL2 with the Bossier - Shreveport Battle Wings. This is his 1st year there after stints with the New York Jets and Montreal Allouettes of the CFL.

Clint Stoerner is in AFL with the Philadelphia Soul. It is his 3rd team in 3 years in the AFL having previous stints with the Dallas Desperados and Nashville Kats, as well as an NFLE stint with Amsterdam.

Tony Banks did not play a snap in Dallas, but because you asked, he was most recently with the Houston Texans, but is currently not signed to any team.

Ryan Leaf is the QB Coach at West Texas A & M University and claims to be happy with his $30k per year job away from the NFL spotlight.

Anthony Wright just signed as a Free Agent with the New York Giants after he had stints with Bengals and Ravens since leaving the Boys.

Chad Hutchinson is contemplating a career in politics in California after his time with the Chicago Bears.

Vinny Testaverde is still currently with the New England Patriots and he spent a year with the New York Jets since he left Dallas.

Drew Henson is with the Minnesota Vikings for the 2nd time since he was released by Dallas.

Drew Bledsoe just retired from the NFL and is expected to devote his time to his ranch in Montana.

I don't know why you bother responding , but I've got an idea. I'd luv to tell you but I try to minize my Forum Infractions to one a year. I really like this place..........;)

But since it appears you missed the entire point on my post, I'll try and explain as we go along..............

This is not breaking news, anyone with google and some common sense could figure out where Quincy Carter had landed.

But why has the NFL Network taken time out of their schedule and money out of their budget to do a segment on Quincy Carter

I mean most Cowboy fans including yourself believe he wasn't worth a damn anyway. You've alluded several times before that he was cut because of his poor on field performance, but you can't reconcile your opinion with the fact that the release came AFTER a failed in house drug test.

What?? Did they (Bill a HOF coach and Jerry HOF bound Owner)need a drug test to justify their decision?

But for some reason the NFLN don't think he's worth the budget or the airwaves.:loser: .......I mean they can led in with the 1st half of the
NY game:laugh2:

NFLN no dice!!!, but this would be great. They could led in with Leaf melting down in the lockeroom than seg-way into Ryan Leaf on the side line berrating his players. :D

Drew Bledsoe doesn't belong on this list. He's a player. A wolf!!!. He's a HOF worthy QB.

He'll have features on Sportcentury, In their Own Words............

Anyway, I think I've made my point. Why Carter???. Let me give you a hint there Hostile. It's for the same reason Carter gets atleast 1000 hits on this forum, for the same reason the Battlewings (the worst AFL2 until Carter arrival) is officially on the MAP, for the same reason the NFLN is doing a segment on Carter, for the same reason Carter was a lightning ROD at Georgia and with the Cowboys.

He has talent to play the position, but he didn't have the mental make-up to excell at the position.

He starting from rock bottom to get back to the NFL and because he showed he can play and play at a high level in the NFL as a starting QB NFLN is doing a segment on him and not the other guys listed above (except Bledsoe).

I'll wear the TROLL hat proudly!!!
