05/03/2007 8:32 AM
The NFL Network's story about Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings' quarterback Quincy Carter has been re-scheduled, and now is slated to be shown during Monday's (May 7) broadcast of "NFL Total Access." The series airs at 6:00pm Central Time and is replayed several times subsequently.
A crew from the NFL Network spent the day in Bossier City Tuesday, preparing the piece. "We expect this to be a positive story about Quincy and the Battlewings," said head coach Jon Norris.
The presence of Carter, a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, on the Battlewings' roster continues to bring a level of attention to the af2 club which has not been experienced in the past. During training camp, ESPN's "Outside the Lines" aired a story about Carter. Representatives from several Dallas-Ft. Worth publications have come to town to chronicle Carter's foray into Arena Football.
Through four games, Carter has completed 82 of 127 pass attempts for 1063 yards and 24 touchdowns. He has thrown three interceptions. In his first road game, Carter tied a franchise record by throwing seven touchdown passes against the Rio Grande Valley Dorados. That included a victory-clinching touchdown toss with just 2.9 seconds showing on the clock. "Quincy is having a lot of fun playing this game," Norris said. "He's like a kid with a video game. That being said, he's still learning. I only expect him to get better as the season progresses."
The Battlewings are undefeated through four games to start the 2007 season. The will play the Corpus Christi Sharks in Corpus Christi Saturday night. You can listen to a broadcast of the game on am1130 KWKH or on-line at www.kwkhonline.com.
