sorry but i have never seen Ewers as a quality starter in the NFL,his best bet is getting drafted early and staying on long enough to be a backup in the NFL.

It wouldn’t to me. Mayfield is a pretty good NFL QB. His hype in college was aided a ton by playing on a team at OU with a huge talent advantage at every position in almost every game. In my view he’s overrated. Not to mention he’s a first class jerk.

Quinn Ewers to me is similar in that he also is surrounded by talent that gives him a huge advantage against most college talent. Ewers has a good arm but I’ve been underwhelmed at his accuracy at times. I don’t think QE is a jerk like Mayfield, lol.

Ewers is a very good college QB with some skills that could translate at the next level. But if I were looking for a QB to draft with high likelihood of success I would pass on Ewers.
but he kept the Cleveland Stadium clean

Quins not even the best QB on his team. Sark is literally sitting on Manning to delay his development in hopes of squeezing 2 years out of him. Shocked the kid is still at Texas willing to ride the pine another year in the name of seniority.

It remains to be seen about Ewers draft status this very early in the year.. He'll have anew weapons to have to learn to work with and he could develop further more in the NFL than what he has in college. He could be a late bloomer.

If Oregon QB Bo Nix ( Denver) can be taken in the first round this year, it may not be out of the question for a Ewers to also be in 1st round mix talk as well.

He has physical tools in terms of arm strength,.. but clutch leadership, durability and intangibles are the areas I'm anxious to see with Ewers.
He's apparently so thought of in the Horns camp, that super recruit prospect QB Arch Manning is being kept on ice, until the Ewer era has passed.

Huge talent advantage but Didn’t Baker walk on? He was a jerk or still is a jerk, Why?

Regarding Baker Mayfield as a walk on:
  • In 2013 as a freshman, Mayfield was a walk on at Texas Tech. He won the starting job at first but lost it to an injury at midseason. He was mad when Coach Kliff Kingsbury told him he would he would have to “re-earn” the starting position. They had a new QB coming to Lubbock named Patrick Mahomes. Mayfield decided to transfer to OU.
  • Mayfield transferred originally at OU as a walk-on. He won the starting job eventually and was placed on scholarship in his second year there. But he was originally a walk on.
Regading Mayfield being a jerk, here are some articles you can read and decide for your self:

Good article. Much of it I was aware of and much of it I really did not have an issue with. The Duke Johnson piece wasn’t the best. Mayfield has been beaten down pretty good since he was thrown out of Cleveland. I’m glad that he has seemed to have found his footing with the Bucs. Hopefully he has matured some which we all seem to do at some point. I will say that I have no issues with his cockiness at all, it is after all probably what has made him successful in the past.

his immaturity and personality held him back. The big question has he changed enough to really become elite?
He certainly has the physical ability. It all comes down to what is between the ears

Listen, who doesn’t appreciate a coach who does not give u typical coach speak? That is what was so good about Parcells. Personally I have always loved the people who are a little outside of what is considered the day to day norm. Would love to see Baker be able to make some noise, not sure if the Bucs are all that though.

Ewers is a natural thrower of the football. He's got what you can't teach.

Now, will that translate to the NFL? Hard to say. As some have said, he really hasn't shown to be as good as advertised as of yet.

Ewers has easy NFL arm talent and can make every throw. How high he goes just depends on how much more an organization thinks he can actually develop.

He's just 21, would be surprised if he falls out of the first round in this draft class.

Tough to tell one week when some of these teams were playing glorified high school teams. Dart looked impressive but how much can you glean from a game where Ole Miss' 2nd and 3rd strings were probably better than the team you were playing?

Now, early projections were this class might be mediocre but, there does seem to be some guys that can impress as the season goes on.

He hasn't been able to avoid that injury bug in college. A strained abdomen sounds painful and uncomfortable. Any movement would irritate it.
