Lol everyone says physically soft …
We are undersized on purpose. It’s the plan.
We have safeties playing LB and small DEs. We play a nickel defense on rushing situations.

The other fallacy in this forum is that when we give up rushing yards everyone thinks it’s all about the DTs.

Hankings playing would have made little to no difference in the game. Most of the yards were gained on the edges because our LB,DE and secondary was poor in playing gaps and they got blocked out because they are too small.

Plus tackling was poor.

Some of u guys need to think more deeply rather than saying ‘we’re soft’. A bunch of tough 200lb guys playing LB isn’t going to stop the run, no matter how hard they are
Well that plan ain’t working.

Not sure what game he was watching. The defense got mauled for 260+ rushing yards. Maybe he meant Mazi played square and strong on his Madden game.

Anyone notice Mazi come off the sideline and get into Buffalo players grills during a scuffle at midfield.

Came all the way off the sideline into the middle of the field ready to scrap. Looked like the only guy. I forget...we might have been on offense too. I dont think it was a rotation thing either. It was for sure during a scuffle and he ran into midfield ready to scrap. Dude didnt like what he was seeing and wanted to involve himself in the situation

There’s no denying the team is physically soft. It’s time for the coaches to earn their money and toughen these team up and ASAP.

This right here, all facts. Doesnt ahve to be negative on the team, jsut accepting what is.

I did notice that one the one play actually.

As for the rest of this thread very dumb to put it on mazi when we were getting killed on cutbacks all game. That’s the same thing that happened in Arizona… we lost outside contain.

Guess we didn’t expect buffalo to run it as much as they did

Im just a casual fan...dont have access to all-22...but I noticed D Lawrence killing it early in the game. He was jumping off the screen with his play.

I know he is supposed to be one of the best run stopping/contain guys in the League...but dont know what happened after that. Did they run to opposite side of him?

Outside contain was exploited constantly...and...even though I thought our guys were playing fast and hard on defense...we seemed to not be able to tackle James Cook.

Personally...I liked the intensity of our defense all game. Just missed tackles. And then...those guys just wear down after playing fast and hard. You cant ask a defense to play hard nose all game when the other team is not relieving you with pass plays. The physicality wears you down and Buffalo wouldnt give our defense a break with pass plays.

The tackling was bad on Cook...but we seemed to play hard. They just wore us out with the run. They didnt give us a break with pass plays.

Mazi was nothing to brag about yesterday, but honestly thought he was OK. He’s getting off the ball a lot better recently, is doing a decent job fighting double teams, and on the few pass reps he got he did decent.

He’s still getting washed down a little too often, struggles to fight off blocks that aren’t straight up, but all in all the guy is massively improved from the start of the season.
Yeah, he's improved.

He was a first round pick, he was expected to do better than "improve".

Could have drafted a DT in the second or probably third round and had somebody who "improved" after nearly the entire season.

Not giving up on him, but he's been a disappointment to this point as a first round pick...
