Quinnen Williams was the one who called the players-only meeting on Monday

To many carbs!!! I'm on a low carb diet....down 40 pounds....I was going to an EDC training in Austin, two months from now, getting ready for 6th street!!!! Just found out yesterday, they were sending me to Houston instead......sucks!!!
I'm on the Texas BBQ diet plus Bacon.

cant fix stupid. Its dna. Many of our players on defense are low IQ in football terms. They lack between the ears and its very obvious. Talent can sometimes mask those things but we can't even override that. We simply lack good players. We have less than 5 decent players on defense. Then we have alot of "Bells" and "stewards" ..jags that shouldn't be starting. Bland is another that shouldn't start. Joey Porter is like a white buffalo we keep hearing about but never actually get to see him.

Do you go there everyday? Have you ever been part of an athletic staff....i know I was "just" a HS coach, but I've also coached college and professional ball in all star and international games, so I'm very comfortable with what I see.
Moving on....see ya
What I'm saying is. I can make the positive assumption. That he's not a idiot. He followed his dad around while he was a kid. His dad was a very well known head coach in this league. He's been under other head coaches that were pretty good and Pete Carroll and some others. I think he understands how to keep things in house. And how to handle them? In a way that you're saying he's not, but I'm saying he is, but he's keeping it in house. It's easier to assume that because he's been around football for a really long time on the professional level...

So, the defensive leader decides to call a players only meeting.

I can’t wait to hear further mental mental gymnastics about how this is a problem that started with Barry Switzer and if Landry was still the coach he would have flown his Flying Fortress over the Star and bombed the players to kingdom come.
I read that the 1970 Cowboys held a players only meeting on defense after a 54-13 loss to the Vikings. Didn't give up an offensive touchdown the last few games of the season and ended up losing the Super Bowl to the Colts by three points.

Great story. Except it wasn't true. That loss was Week 5 of the season; we got throttled by the Cardinals, at home, 38-0 a few weeks later. Two of the touchdowns had nothing to do with the defense in that game (INT and blocked kick returns), and two more were set up on very short fields due to turnovers.

The defense wasn't bad before that Vikings game either, and was the 4th-ranked defense. They only gave up 37 points in the first 4 games.

Not quite the same situation (if the meeting did happen).

This team has some star power but no cohesity. This is a coaching problem. The coaching problem is caused by the narcissistic owner that hires based on fealty instead of competence.

This will continue until the Cowboys are sold. No one in the Jones family is, or will be, a competent GM.

This is the same guy who can't motivate himself ??? Calling for a team meeting?? :muttley:

Provided this does anything, it’ll last for a week or two. The moment Dallas has a reason to feel good about anything their lame owner starts telling them all how good they are and they just coast. Thats why it’s basically an every other week affair with this team and has been for decades now.
