Good thing they don't need to cover the whole field, just the parts where there are Seahawks... :D

Exactly. And considering the Seahawks don't have a lot of speed at WR or TE I don't think it'll be a problem. The only threat the seahawks present to the Cowboys is their running game. Joe Jurivhoweveryouspellit and whoever else they have at WR doesn't scare me.

In the pre season game I remember Hassleback being like 10-11 at one point, but I know it was pre season, and we are so much more improved both at rushing the passer and at corner than we were then. The key is pressure on the QB. If you have any pressure at all the corners, and our suspect cover safety position will be fine. If he can't hold it long enough for the WR's to get downfield, by the way who are their WR'S, then he has to dump it off, and our linebackers should have enough speed to cover those underneath routs. Hope Dat is back!

Yep, 100 yards x 50(?) yards = 500 square yards. That's a LOT of field to cover.

FYI, you're missing a zero. That would equal 5,000 square yards

Face it guys, there's no way the Cowboys can keep Seattle from going backwards.

That's just too much field to cover.

We don't have to cover the whole field because The Newspaper already covers half of it.

The problem I've seen is on the long plays our Safeties have made bad reads or late reads on players flooding their zones. Also a lot of problems handling crossing routes and pass off from LB on deeper TE routes.

I fear Holmgrem more than anyone knows how that has been done and will try and hit that weakness hard. Good news is he has to establish run. If we can stone run and can get pressure consistent Hasselback might not have the time and can be forced into sacks/Turnovers.

S/B good matchup.

I see our offense going to town on Seahawks - really do.

Someday when there's a defense full of fast guys that get to the ball quick, blanket the receivers and seem to cover the whole field, somebody will nickname that defense, "The Tarp."

Or maybe not.

Actually the width of the field is 53 yards, not 50. Plus you have to factor in the endzones so it would end up being 6,360 square yards. :D

it'll be a tough game for us for several reasons:

we beat them last year in a dramatic fashion. they have something to prove
julius jones which was the main factor in our win won't play
being on the road is very difficult for a young team
we have to rely on several backups in key positions for the first time all year

why me thinks we'll win anyway?
our defense is for real. they have injuries on offense too. and our defense has shown up all year and could be one of the league's best when all is said and done. we are solid on D across the board.
