Not talking about wins. I'm talking about acting like a rookie QB with 14 games under his belt belongs in the same sentence as Brady. Only a dumb homer would think that.
Never said he belonged in the same conversation as Brady. I said when Brady started nobody knew what he would turn out to be. Same with Dak. Nobody knows but I love all those calling him a game manager and giving him no credit for the 12-2 record. Of course I've heard Tony compared to Brady and the same people that laugh at Dak think that's pretty accurate. Now that's a homer.

Do you believe that Romo belongs in the same sentence as Brady?

"Prescott is the anti-Romo. His game is all about intangibles and winning -- not statistics"

Moron should get fired for such an idiotic statement.

His career has been built on idiotic statements. This is just another in a long line.

The statement makes no sense in either direction because Dak has the stats (top 5 in passer rating, yards per attempt, completion %, game winning drives and 4th quarter comebacks), and he hasn't played in the postseason yet so you can't compare him to Romo's record there either way.

I want actually listening to the radio this morning when JJT made that comment. I don't think it was as anti-Romo as it looks, or at least it wasn't intended to be. It came up when they were talking about the supposed quarterback controversy, which they both brushed off as being ridiculous. JJT said he thought the team was built for a QB like Prescott. He won't make as many spectacular plays as Romo, but at the same time he won't make as many spectacular mistakes either. I think that's what he was referring to when he said Dak is the "Anti-Romo", which is accurate.

He was precisely stating that Romo is all about statistics over winning. There is no other interpretation that makes even a shred of sense. You can think what you want about Romo, but to state that he is stats-oriented rather than win-oriented simply wreaks of ignorance and/or an agenda. JJT is what he is...one whose gig is built on negativity. He's right up there with the S A Smiths of the world. Always saying a whole lot while, at the same time, saying nothing.

It sounds like an accurate assessment. I don't think JJT has an agenda to push. It's an observation from someone who follows the Cowboys closely and knows what's best for the team.

Maybe I misunderstood what JTT said when I heard him on the radio. But his statement wouldn't make sense otherwise because the most important statistic of all is winning.

I was simply responding the the quote cited in the OP. For him, or anyone else, to claim that Romo cared about stats over winning is asinine. You can say a lot of things about Romo, but questioning his competitiveness is not one of them. I don't think you heard him wrong...a lot of what he says doesn't make sense, IMO. He and Archer are both espn guys...Archer posts the positive stuff and JJT posts the negative stuff...kind of like pro wrasslin'. He (JJT) is what he is.
