I actually like this...I'm not a fan of Roy but if he changes his number that means he wants to start fresh. Hopefully He gathers himself and prepares Physically and mentally like no other year before. I hope He improves, I still support the guy, It's just he pisses me the hell off sometimes.

He needs to try something new......confuse the offenses

I am not criticizing his faith or beliefs, its just a fact. After he was spiritually reborn he went soft. Nothing wrong with that but he let that affect his play on the field. He doesnt play with emotion anymore or plays pissed off.

He is too tentative in everything he does. I hope everyone finds something they can firmly believe in and do the things the right way.

That doesn't mean I want it to affect the play of players on my team.

but I just can't stop laughing at that line.

:lmao:

It's cruel, I know, but come on, that ( Joe Rod's ) has to be one of the funniest comebacks ever.

If you guys didn't have RW to ***** about, it would be the next guy we brought in. A safety without help in coverage will get burnt all day long.

Right...

So he isn't known around the NFL as one of, if not THE worst coverage DB in the league. Cause thats what the players that play us say, they admit this.....and we see it by the way they target him, and by the way we accepted it (finally) last yr by sitting his chunky rear end on the bench during passing situations.

And if we bring in a new safety who actually acts like a leader who doesnt point the finger when the secondary gives up big play,s doesn't pout with the local media tike a toddler, actually hung out with the rest of the defense on their weekly get together.....well then maybe your right, we might give that guy a little more leeway than this guy when he repeatedly gets burned.

Okay he is just overweight... my bad Captain Obvious.

I question his commitment. He's been over weight for quit some time, doesn't take responsibility for his blown covereges and before he was drafted I remember a reporter asking him how long he planned on playing football and he said something like 8 or 9 years. And although I have no knowledge of his study habbits, I doubt he spends more than the required time studdying game tapes.

I'm guessin because he's hoping that going back to his college number might resurrect some of his old skills...Problem is, changing the number of the jersey isn't going to change the player inside of it

he addressed this before the end of the season, and I think he said that he's doing it because the #8 means a "new beginning"

I'm not sure if this has been posted already, and if so I'm sorry. Why is Roy changing his number to #38?

Apparently he is hoping that changing back to his old college # will cause him to start playing like he did back in college.

I kinda doubt changing your # will prevent you from sucking. I have more faith that Campo can work some magic than some stupid # change turning Roy's game around.

If Roy sucks again this year under Campo I am thinking Roy is gone next year.

What is sad is that safety we have to sit on the bench during passing downs was the highest paid player on the team last year and accounts for over 10% of our cap this year:mad:

hmmm....you might check with the late great Reggie White, Mike Singletary, and a host of others on this one...they might suggest Jesus aint the reason Roy is 'playing soft'.... ;)

I Roy will lose weight, stretch and work on speed and quickness, he might and I mean might regain what he had. I'll believe it when I see it.
