Right, but the idea is that with Cason and Flowers on the board, King would be the "best they can do" at that spot in terms of corners. He doesn't say he's good value, but he clearly indicates he's better than Cason and Flowers.

Vela's been pimping King since the beginning of the '07 season. But King had what's universally considered a terrible season (gave up 50 catches, for 717 yards, and 6 TDs) and plummeted to a mid-round pick. Yet Vela keeps on pimping him.

I guess it's a "pet cat" scenario.

What I read was Vela quoting a source on a mock. In that mock King was selected at 28 - not good value. However, I don't think it mentions at all where Cason and Flowers were selected. So they may or may not have been on the board for that 28th pick.
