Raiders discuss trade for McCown

I have said it before and I will say it again.

Go do some research on the Raiders draft and you will be shocked how long it has been since they took a QB in the first round.

I'd still take Calvin Johnson and then grab Drew Stanton at the top of round 2. Or trade down with Tampa who really wants Calvin and grab Russell or Quinn at 4 plus add another pick. If they are dead set on a QB in the first they should still parlay it into getting more bang for the buck.

I think Johnson will end up being the pick. Here's why:

1. Al will give Walter one more year to prove he's the long-term starter and give him the ultimate weapon to prove it.

2. QB is solid next year. Brian Brohm, Chad Henne, and Colt Brennan are all projected to be first round picks. There isn't a WR close to CJ next year.

I won't fault them for going with CJ or QB this year, but he's far and away the best prospect in the draft and Al has always been fascinated by athletes.
