Raiders fans on Jihad Ward

Fans are stupid, ignorant of the whole picture and impatient. I include us in that statement also.
Especially myself, except for the patient part...
mr Corso--- i really knew little about this guy..(Ward)...so i went to nfldraftscoutplayerprofile...and he is both slow and not strong has done little for Raiders...i think he was originally projected 5th round pick but Raiders took him in 2nd round...personally i hate that trade...but i am only a naive fan...if we allow RB's to run up the middle on us this year i will be upset...for me ...it seems cowboys overestimate their players and do not upgrade positions at times and we see inefficiency at certain spots...that may just be my own imagination but that is what comes to mind

I feel pretty happy that we got a big body that the Cowboys had a chance to get a good look at and felt might be a fit in their system. The D has been a wreck in LA for several years so a guy underperforming there really doesn't mean a whole lot.

With the addition of Austin and having Beasley here, there just wasn't going to be much time for Switzer to get a chance. Broaddus I believe it was mentioned that the difference in quickness between Beasley and Switzer was day and night....with Beasley being MUCH better. Switzer is a little faster.

I'd much rather get someone's reject than get nothing for the player. Can be all kinds of reason for failure.

I don't blame you for any of those thoughts. Not at all... We'll see how this goes, yes?

There was a quote that said they might have pulled the plug too soon and blamed the previous coaching staff for and overall mess on defense.

I don't think the Cowboys are expected much but obviously had already decided they didn't want to keep Switzer.

Some players just need to go to another team with a fresh start. Morris Claiborne needed to go to another team where there was no monkey on his back.

I’ve never watched him play but defensive lineman usually take a few years. It’s not an easy position to transition to in the NFL.

Our own David Irving and Demarcus Lawrence were ok at best for a few years. Now look at them.

It’s worth a shot. Switzer didn’t have a spot here so it’s worth the risk.
Just last offeseason, the 1st impression I got, after being away for a bit, was DLaw needs to be cut!

Lol... us stupid kids...

yes...we certainly will..by the way...what do you think of our current receiving corps...Hurns..Gallop...TWill...Beasely...maybe count Tavon Austin..

Deonte..( speedster forgot last name? )...Brown..and cedric Wilson and one other UFA?...personally...i think Dez was stunting development of Dak
so many forced throws and such...Dez in Dak's ear all the time?...ok we no longer have a true #1 but some good #2's & #3's who can run good routes and if this sanjay passing guru can develop a good scheme i think we are good enough to keep other teams from loading the box on every play?...what is your first thought on this?

He was like the lowest rated DT last year..... So says the stats 37.7

Well, if it's anything like CZ hes probably going to be a Pro Bowler then. Ha ha.

But seriously, Rod got more out of Jihad in a few days of Senior Bowl practices then that terrible Raiders defense did in two years. That defense was terrible and they had some talent.

And people forget that Marinelli produced good seasons from Terrell McClain and George Selvie, who weren't on an NFL roster when Dallas brought them in. Another example was Jeremy Mincey, who was a bargain basement FA that hadn't produced in years.

If Jihad Ward produces like the three guys I just listed, the trade is a win for us. Switzer was on the outside looking in after this draft.
