Raiders sign Jeff George

Its sad when Jeff George can get another NFL job before any of our three previous "Quarterbacks of the Future" can.

I don't know if I consider the Raiders another NFL job. They are now what the Cowboys were when they signed their three "Qwarterbacks of the Future".

I can just hear it now .... a career journeyman who never lived up to his potential has one more shot of NFL glory.

Look AGAIN, please DF.

Are you sure it wasn't BOY George? PHYLLIS George?

George WASHINGTON?

(all of whom could help them as much)
haha..

Davis would sign George Washington in a heartbeat.. I mean, come on, the guy did chop down a bunch of cherry trees.. He's gotta have a good arm for that..

oh, and bonus points for mentioning Boy George.. there is a "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?" joke in here somewhere, but I gotta get back to work..

Of all the moves that have been made today, the one ESPNews has on the bottom of the screen as breaking news is "Raiders sign QB Jeff George"

The staff there knows how funny it is, so they are just leaving it up there, lol. I mean, there are alot more important stories they could put there...........

:lmao2: :lmao:

My favorite Jeff George story, D_F.

A few years back in Washington, when Terry Robiskie was finishing out the season as interim coach, he replaced George with (I'm pretty sure it was) Brad Johnson.

George was reported to have gone ballistic, following Terry R. down a corridor at the Skins hdqtrs, screaming at the top of his lungs "you stupid #*%&~#%. don't you know I'm the only #@!*%! who could save your job?! ?

You're !$#*%! finished now, without me to save your $!*$% hide!"

The Raiders have signed veteran free agent quarterback Jeff George.

The 6'4", 215-pounder out of Illinois played for the Colts from 1990-93, and the Atlanta Falcons from 1994-96, before joining the Silver and Black. After leaving Oakland, George played in 12 games with 10 starts in 1999 with the Minnesota Vikings, spent 2000-01 with the Washington Commanders, and 2002-2003 with the Seattle Seahawks. LOL, I would love to have been a fly on the wall when Al Davis was talking to Jeff about signing. Maybe he will go nuts like that again, except on Al. Course, Al would just have him killed.

Commentors are just too funny when they talk about it.

Al was a maverick and a pioneer and all that good stuff...but uh, one look at him during the HOF cermonies would make ya think "Hey this guy is gone enough to sign, uh, JEFF GEORGE"

I didn't realize that until I just read it. That says it all about his current abilities.

Hey, Juke, Jerry is much too chummy with Davis for me to feel comfy with this...there could be one more stop for Jeff before he's through.

Please let EDDIE George be the last one that passes thru here.:D

He is 4 years younger than Vinnie ...... who was our starter 2 years ago ....

:( Now its not so funny

Man, if you're that desperate just bring back Kerry Collins and admit it was a mistake to release him.

Maybe they tried and Kerry turned them down knowing he finally got out of that mess and did not want back in it. :laugh2:

Al Davis and Jerry Jones...slimey and more slimey.

:)

Ya know, the piont was made a few posts above...very astutely...George is younger than Vinny was when he was the QB here.

Kinda makes ya wonder what everyone is laughing about regarding this signing.

My thoughts exactly, I did a double take at the TV when I saw it. I had to walk up to my TV to see if I was reading it right.

Are you sure it didn't say "died?"

:laugh2: :laugh1:
