No, according to him he was just doing it the way it was done back then. Shooting Rocky 1 he wasnt a star. He just wanted to bring realism to these later films. He had a hangup with the bad coordinating of the fight scenes from earlier films. He wanted to change that.

I was trying to make a bad joke. Movies in general are becoming more and more realistic.

The original Rocky is still very underrated, thanks in large part to the endless sequels (which by and large, are pretty good).

By the way, I never would have figured you to be a Rocky fan.

Statham can be pretty good, but he sure is in a lot of crap movies. Transporter was barely watchable and the 2nd one was just complete and utter crap. Crank wasn't much better, and I haven't been impressed with his movies with Jet Li.

The Italian Job was good as are a few of his other more obscure roles. The Bank Job looks like it could be good.

They just don't make action movies (or stars) like they used to. Now they even make Die Hard movies suck and John McClane into a softy.

"First Blood" is Stallone's best movie IMO. With Rocky a very close second. I was lucky enough to see both of them in the theater when they were first released.

I too really dig Jason Statham. But I still think his best flick was "LS&2SB." Absolutely fabulous movie IMO. Although I'm under the impression that some might disagree strongly with my assessment. It's kinda funny that he was in movies entitled "Crank" & "Snatch." That brings back some 20 y/o memories from back in my partying days. OH WHAT FUN!


I still haven't seen Rambo 4 yet. The trailor looked good though. I say, as long as they are good, he should keep spitting them out. At least until his visibly melting face starts dripping. Then it might be time to hang'em up.

Despite the Bourne sries, I still don't really see Matt Damon as an "action star." I guess I just see him as a bit more of a cerebral type.

I loved the way they filmed it and the way they edited it to give the film rambos point of view. Rambo didnt even seem like the main character. He was just in the background in a way. Very dark, very realistic and very different from the other films.

Loved it. Brian tyler's score was fantastic.

The only thing that was good about the first Transporter movie was the Asian chick. Overall I thought it was a bad movie. I haven't seen the second one.

I loved him Snatch though.

Don't. It's bad. It's real bad.

Snatch on the other hand is absolute genius.

Its funny because he has that "intangible".... when you watch his movies... YOU BELIEVE.... not all actors/movies can say that.

I am pretty sure it was independent. I know they had a hard time finding financing for the film. Lionsgate distributed the film and he did have some affiliation with the weinsteins.

Hey for some of us it was just a fun movie to watch, I personally loved the way it was filmed and edited. I enjoy lots of movies even if they are not academy award candidates.

I like what Wil Smith has done as an action star and I also like Mark Wahlberg..
Shooter was excellent...

I was not crazy about the new Rambo it was watchable but that was it and the New Rocky I thought was not good at all,,,
for me both seemed like he just tried to recreate the past...

In th original Rocky I felt how he was with the girl you know picking a less than average looking awkward girl was the down side of the movie. I sure didnt need to relive it 30 years later....
