I thought Rambo 4 would be the last, yet today we hear that there will be a Rambo 5 to begin filming in Bulgeria Soon...

Kinda Scary IMHO...

Known there would be another one for quite awhile now. Though Bulgaria seems odd. Sly hinted he'd like to have it be back in the States.

Cry about it all you want (don't know why since you aren't being forced to watch it), but I'm glad he's making another one. Rambo 4 kicked butt. He's not the same "action hero" he once was, but there really is no young guy getting that job done these days. The Rock was suppose to be that guy but he's too busy making "Comedies".

Seriously, I want to see a movie with the Rock just going around kicking 17 different kinds of arse. Don't try to "Force" the comedy. That part will come naturally with him, just let him blow some crap up.

We really need a good action star to step up. The best one right now, IMO, is Jason Statham (sp?), but he's only "ok".

I think people are just making light of the situation due to his age but still like those types of movies. I for one am one of them. Maybe I am just old school but it seems movies these days don't have that hero anymore like Ahnold or Stallone or even Indy. The real key is not a blow em up type of movie but an actor that people really like who does a serious action movie with a halfway decent plot. I'm not saying doing the Die Hard series all over again but something new.

I agree. I joke about it because Stallone is past 60 now and still going back to Rocky and Rambo. But I saw both of the new renditions and they were both lightyears better than the previous final installments of the series (Rambo III and Rocky V, yuck).

I would also add that I wonder what else they can do with the Rambo character. He's done America (First Blood), jungles (Part II), desert (Part III) and made a comeback (Rambo). At the end of the last movie it shows him going home, so does it end where it started (some local sheriff pushing him over the edge)?

I really like Jason Statham, but not many know who he is. The action is usually tip-top, but yeah, he's pretty hit or miss.

Vin Diesel is another one, like The Rock, who could be an awesome action star, but for some reason started doing family comedies. Looks like they somehow got Ice Cube sucked into their scheme, too.

When Matt Damon is the only serious young star putting out decent action movies, there is a problem.

I really enjoyed the last Rambo. The problem I see with doing another one is consistency. Will Sly keep the "realistic" violent theme even if the plot involves something along the lines of his dad/family/whoever getting killed? Or will it go back to a gratuitous blow-up-everything-in-sight mantra as was the case in II and III.

I'd like to see more action myself...that's why I enjoyed II so much. I doubt Sly would go the same road as IV again with the violence.

The only thing that was good about the first Transporter movie was the Asian chick. Overall I thought it was a bad movie. I haven't seen the second one.

I loved him Snatch though.

I actually read and saw some interviews where he is making it a point to make things look real... so much so that in Rocky Balboa - they really hit each other and as a result both were injured. As opposed to the other Rocky movies where you could see the punch miss by a foot or more.

Well, he was a big action star back then so he probably tried to avoid messing his face up. But maybe now since his face is so messed up with all of that plastic surgery, no one would notice so it's fair game.

No, according to him he was just doing it the way it was done back then. Shooting Rocky 1 he wasnt a star. He just wanted to bring realism to these later films. He had a hangup with the bad coordinating of the fight scenes from earlier films. He wanted to change that.
