That crap is contagious. Better to not infect aubrey.
I doubt they’d cut him. But they’ll pick up Maher as insurance and then need him. That’s just the way these things seem to work out.It would be funny if the 49ers cut the guy that they took in the 3rd round.
the difference between us and other teams. We would hold on to him till summer
Well, can't count on Aubrey to keep this up. Gotta have a backup plan.Told you. We were clearing the practice squad for a big move. Here it is, Jerry. Don't miss out.
I thought we should have re-signed him for cheap and then brought in competition like Aubrey. Would have been better than Vizcaino at least. I don't think anyone was for just letting Maher have the job after his meltdown. But he made 94 percent of his FGs, so I thought that bought him a chance to show he could overcome what happened to him.Kudos to all you who assured me (and others) during training camp that we would rue the day that Cowboys HQ failed to, at least, give Maher a training camp contract rather than staking hopes on this "unproven" USFL kid... and have come back to confess that your omniscience had a hiccup after all.
I think we all wanted Maher to go somewhere and succeed. But the last place he likely was going to hold up mentally was our place... obvious added psychological cobwebs here.
He maybe should consider doing the reverse of Aubrey, and look to kick for someone in the USFL next spring so he can turn the page. Might just be my optimistic nature, I dunno, but something about that guy makes me believe that some day it's all just going to lock-in with him, and he's going to be a superior kicker for some team until his leg falls off.
