This situation has become comically sad. This guy needs a lot of help before he completely ruins his life beyond repair. He doesn't appear to be smart enough or self aware enough to do anything for himself. I'm not sure what the Cowboys do in terms of how they administer psychological testing, but whatever was done here missed the boat entirely. I would hope that the Cowboys self scout their procedures in how they make assessments on problem players - this year was a lot like 2008 in that they took some chances this past offseason on questionable players such as Hardy and Gregory, and put a lot of faith in someone like Randle, and they spectacularly failed with these decisions.

Anything Joseph Randle related should probably go in the Off Topic forum from now on.

Not at all. He's got a deteriorating mental condition. This is a sad story.

Jerry talked about his situation and about the team's general approach to these sorts of problems quite a bit last week. It was a rambling interview, but worth listening to if anybody really cares about how the team views its responsibility to players in situations like these.

This is eerily similar to Titus Young. Floaty surely remembers him. He was one HELLUVA lil' WR for BSU and the LIons until well.....all hell broke loose. Was it drugs, alcohol, then the concussions? Was it the concussions that brought on the drugs and alcohol? Whatever the case, it's a very sad tale and if not for the compassion of a judge, he'd be in prison right now. Here's the article on Titus. LOTS of Lions fans laughed, ridiculed and bad mouthed him just like Cowboys fans have done with regard to J. Randle. Idgit is right guys....the man is sick and desperate for help. I just see a sad comparison to him and Young:

For all of you who have piled on this guy....check yourselves. It's easy to rip a guy like this on a message board. But he's a human being for god sakes. Have some decency and compassion.

Your using logic, and mentally ill people dont think logically lol .
They usually reject help, it needs to be forced upon them sometimes.
How many alcoholics or drug addicts want to dry out ? or get help?

Plenty, and generally those are the people who actually obtain sobriety. You can't force sobriety on to someone, and you can't indefinitely hold someone until they cooperate to a level that you deem to be satisfactory.

His actions are not logical, look at the underwear incident, he had plenty of money yet walks out with it, and then is
caught by a old man who he could easily have ran away from.

Unless he stole for a reason other than his ability to pay. The fact that a person can get away with it is reason enough for some people. We usually call them, "criminals".

It is more than stupidity, it is all irrational behavior that doesnt make sense.
He needs to be confined somewhere and examined for mental illness or he will hurt himself or someone else.
He admitted to the cowboys he was paranoid, and they wanted him to get counseling and he ran off.

I dont think he knows what he is doing, is just wandering around being impulsive and getting in trouble.

He could have some sort of mental health problem, but neither the Cowboys nor the NFL have any sort of responsibility for going above and beyond the services that are widely available to these players by - somehow - locking these guys up.

Wow, that's great to hear Young might be doing better, after all. It's so hard to say what's really going on by reading short news articles, but at least it seems like he's legitimately getting help. I thought he was headed for a long lock up, for sure.

Randle's issues were blatantly obvious long before the front office decided to send him packing. Sad for him that he was allowed to languish without the benefit of professional help so long before hitting bottom like he did. Of course, he may have done these things regardless of the help that was offered. As it turns out, he'll probably be wasting away for years behind bars. All things considered, It appears he's got nobody to blame but himself.

"He has the potential to be a #1 back. If he wasn't here then I wouldn't feel as good about how things could go this season" - Jerry Jones.

Randle did not have any infraction while in college the things he has done has cost him his job with the Cowboys and now likely with any other team in the NFL. Those who are placing any blame on the Cowboys or scouting department really are reaching, only person responsible for Randle's action if Randle himself.

I just hate saying this but, it confirms how bad our scouting and coaching staff really is, doesn't it?

Somehow I get the feeling that you really don't hate saying this type of thing.

And your conclusion is bogus also.

This is sad. The young man actually has some abilities if he could keep his head on straight. With a good work ethic, he could be a change-of-pace back at the very least, maybe even the main guy. He had some very good runs where he quickly changed direction and got something when it seemed nothing was there. Unfortunately, he's behaving like an immature punk throwing his life away. If I were a close friend of his, I would see if I could get him into some serious counseling and then get his legal problems handled and then see about getting him a new start in the Arena league or the CFL. A return to the NFL at some point wouldn't be out of the question. Alas, that's unlikely to happen. He seems like another Lawrence Phillips, except with less talent.

So you're getting those feelings again. Better call of Doctor Phil to have a private consultation.
Nothing bogus about my conclusion that you can prove. You opinion is fine with me though.
