16 runs for 65 yards
3 catches for 42 yards

He had a good game. People claim he was easily arm tackled; however, at most only 3 of 16 runs were remotely close to being considered an arm tackle and only 1 of those did I think he had a chance to break the tackle.

I didn't see any plays where he looked "slow". He obviously does not have McFadden's speed, but he has excellent quickness.

His pass blocking was good. Only 1 of 4 pass blocks was less than ideal but it was good enough. The primary issue is that he correctly identified the defender to block each time.

He was 3 or 3 catching passes with 1 spectacular 1 hand grab.

1st Quarter
1-10-DAL 18 (14:54) 21-J.Randle right guard to DAL 20 for 2 yards (91-R.Ayers Jr.; 95-J.Hankins).
Zone right, cutback, solid tackle by DL, still gained an extra yard after 1st hit

2-8-DAL 20 (14:24) 21-J.Randle left end to DAL 23 for 3 yards (91-R.Ayers Jr.).
Not tackled by 1st hit

2-5-DAL 34 (12:14) (Shotgun) 9-T.Romo pass short right to 21-J.Randle to DAL 40 for 6 yards (47-U.Unga, 59-D.Kennard).
Catch, nice quickness

1-10-DAL 40 (11:34) 21-J.Randle right tackle to DAL 43 for 3 yards (93-G.Selvie).
Gained more than it appeared was available

2-7-DAL 43 (10:59) 21-J.Randle left end to DAL 48 for 5 yards (47-U.Unga).
Nice run, gained yards with minimal opening

1-10-NYG 44 (9:34) 21-J.Randle left end to NYG 29 for 15 yards (21-L.Collins; 22-B.Meriweather).
Gained extra 5 yards after 1st hit by 2 DBs

1-10-NYG 15 (7:24) 21-J.Randle right end to NYG 15 for no gain (41-D.Rodgers-Cromartie).
Tried to get outside, tackled by Safety while still moving laterally, this is probably the "arm tackle" play

1-10-DAL 10 (1:53) 21-J.Randle right end to DAL 13 for 3 yards (47-U.Unga).
Hit by 2 defenders, still got 3 yards after initial hit

2nd Quarter
2-3-DAL 32 (15:00) 21-J.Randle up the middle to DAL 37 for 5 yards (47-U.Unga).
Nice inside power run, extra 3 yards after initial hit

1-10-DAL 37 (14:13) 21-J.Randle left end to DAL 40 for 3 yards (20-P.Amukamara; 55-J.Thomas).
Tackled by 4 defenders.

2-7-DAL 40 (13:34) (Shotgun) 9-T.Romo pass incomplete short middle to 83-T.Williams (28-J.Hosley).
Successful pass block

3-7-DAL 40 (13:28) (Shotgun) 9-T.Romo pass incomplete short left to 83-T.Williams.
Successful pass block

3rd Quarter
1-10-DAL 20 (9:48) 21-J.Randle left tackle to DAL 22 for 2 yards (95-J.Hankins).
Almost avoided the tackle by the big DT Hankins. Some people might call this an arm tackle but he was body to body with the 320+ Hankins initially

2-8-DAL 22 (9:05) 21-J.Randle right end to DAL 29 for 7 yards (41-D.Rodgers-Cromartie).
Excellent vision and powers through for extra yardage at the end

3-1-DAL 29 (8:24) 9-T.Romo pass short right to 21-J.Randle pushed ob at NYG 46 for 25 yards (41-D.Rodgers-Cromartie).
Spectacular 1 handed catch for big gain

1-10-NYG 46 (7:52) 9-T.Romo pass short right to 21-J.Randle pushed ob at NYG 35 for 11 yards (55-J.Thomas).
Catch for 11 yards

1-10-NYG 35 (7:14) 21-J.Randle left end to NYG 30 for 5 yards (59-D.Kennard, 93-G.Selvie).
Nice run, tackled by 5 defenders

1-10-NYG 24 (5:41) 21-J.Randle right tackle to NYG 19 for 5 yards (47-U.Unga).
Nice run, some might claim this was an "arm tackle" but the defender knocked him 3 yards sideways as he was avoiding another defender

1-2-NYG 2 (4:08) 9-T.Romo pass short middle to 89-G.Escobar for 2 yards, TOUCHDOWN [59-D.Kennard].
Good enough pass block, could have been better

1-10-DAL 8 (2:26) 21-J.Randle left tackle to DAL 12 for 4 yards (93-G.Selvie; 95-J.Hankins).
Good effort, tackled by 4 defenders (Hankins all the way out in the flat)

2-6-DAL 12 (1:50) 21-J.Randle right guard to DAL 13 for 1 yard (47-U.Unga).
Got a little out of nothing

3-5-DAL 13 (1:04) (Shotgun) 9-T.Romo pass short left to 83-T.Williams to DAL 20 for 7 yards (20-P.Amukamara).
Pass block, but LB was going to stay in coverage anyway

1-10-DAL 20 :)19) 21-J.Randle left guard to DAL 22 for 2 yards (72-K.Wynn).
Tackled by 3 defenders

But I was told Randle sucks and we're screwed with him as the lead back.

No, you was told that by those butt-hurt that Murray left for the money. Even though they say they are Cowboy "fans", they go out of their way to blame JJ & the gang and make Murray out to be the best there ever was.. Not quite. Although the FO has been spectacular over the last 4-5 years and everybody and their Momma knows the OL had a lot to do with Murrays success. Randle and McFadden will be just fine this year.

Did you notice the "crickets"? Murray has 8 carrys for 9 yards last week... Don't hear all the "Murray lovers" now.. I figure we'll hear from them we he has a good game.. hahaha..I love it. Trust the Process!

I won't take a whole game. Just wait until he has more than 5 yards on one play and they'll exclaim the Cowboys screwed up by not re-signing him.

Not all Randle has to do better is a "I want Murray" post.

It seems like there are as may "Randle is my pet cat so you can't say anything bad about him" posters as "Butt hurt that Murray is gone" posters.

Randle averaged over 4 yards a carry on Sunday night which is considered above average.

But hey don't let the facts get in the way.

Facts? So average yards per whatever is a fact?

Someone can run for 40 yards on 1 carry and have 40 yards a carry average. Yeh let's put that guy in Canton.

Good stuff @xwalker

Randle looked ok and will get better as he gets more experience.

The biggest issue for the run game was how the game unflolded last Sunday night. If Dallas doesn't fall behind with half the offense dropping the ball, then they can stick to the run game a little better.

Maybe the line didn't have a good game....you know, that same line that anyone back can run behind?

Who said out him in Canton? Nobody said that.

Randle didn't have a 40 yard run.

Like I said most would consider 4 yards a carry a good night. There were no real explosive runs so he was pretty consistently getting that amount. He only had 16 carries. By that pace he would've only needed nine more carries to crack 100 yards.

Then nobody would be whining.

Randle is a good back. Is he perfect? No, but none of these three backs are world beaters.

You are the one who said "Don't let facts get int the way" after posting Randle's YPC. I'm pointing out YPC doesn't tell the whole story and gave you an example. I didn't say Randle ran a 40 yards. Maybe you should learn to read more carefully before accusing people of ignoring these so called "facts"

Then why do his defenders get so upset when we call him average, which is what he is. He is part of the bargain basement RBBC.

I didn't want to go from record breaking to just average. If the OL is so good the running game should be a strength not just passable.

The Giants DT's played pretty well I thought. We couldn't cut them off for cutbacks. Their DE got owned though.

Especially playing against a Gints defense missing their best DLimen and starting a UDFA rookie at MLB and a rookie safety.

Ahh I see I'm a defender of Randle because I'm stating the facts. Average? So what if he got 9 more carries and by that pace surpassed 100 yards would he have been more than average? Since it's all about numbers with you people.

You are calling your opinion that 4.0 ypc is above average a fact. It is not.

I agree. Falling behind forced us to pass more in the second half.

Except it is a fact. Ask any OC if they'll take four yards a carry. They'll take it every time. Why do you think people were whining about McFadden averaging under four yards a carry? Because that's considered below average. A full yard more is above average:

Actually, 9 of his 16 carries were for 3 yards or fewer. I'd like to see that number improve, but I'm not disappointed with his play in this game. I thought there were some plays where he could have gotten more yards if he had a little more strength, but overall his performance was satisfactory.

I'm hoping that our lead back ends up in the 4.5 per carry range at the lowest (or higher if he breaks several big runs). We need the consistency of getting 4 to 5 yards on first down to make defenses not just play coverage, especially if they are going to try to stop the run with seven men.

I'll take what Randle did in that first game and hope he builds on it.
