Randle had some decent runs in the Eagles game. I'm certainly not proclaiming him the next Emmitt Smith, but he showed some promise. Do you think there's any chance he becomes the next guy or are we looking for running backs in the offseason?

Love Murray, but I think it's clear at this point that he's not the guy.

This team doesn't need a gamebreaking back, that's not how the offense is built. Instead, it needs a guy who can be steady and reliable - and that includes staying healthy. Murray is a great fit with his style of play, though I think he leaves some yards on the field, but he just can't stay healthy. If Randle has the similar skillset, he could be a solid replacement.

Nice commentary. A reliable , move the chains, shorten the distance to get a first down back is what we have been missing. To me he seems to always be going forward, even when stopped at the line. Also like he protects the ball, and for now has shown some hands when called on in the passing game.

Nice first start for a rookie.

I love his pass catching ability. I think he looks like a natural WR more than an RB. If he can pass protect then make plays catching out of the backfield, we are CRAZY dangerous.

Good point about protecting the ball, and a couple of other people have mentioned it as well. Murray has gotten a bit lucky at times with his fumbles in that the ball hasn't gone to the defense, but he doesn't put a premium on putting two hands over it that's for sure.

We don't need a great back. We have great receiving corp. We just need a decent, healthy back.

It's way too early to say, he only had one start but to me, it was a very solid game and I like his catching ability,. He really need to improve pass blocking though.

I'm not pleased with his inability to break tackles.

He runs like Felix Jones, too upright and the first player to touch his feet..he goes down.

I don't think you can teach that stuff.

We'll see.

I don't think he has enough speed or big play potential to fill the every-down-back role effectively.

Emmitt wasn't a superstar his first game either, he wasn't that fast either. I thought Randle looked solid and would like to see him build on that. The game wasn't too big for him and Philadelphia is a heck of a place to get your first start.

Yeah I saw that but again, it's his first start and I believe he can only improve. Right now its just too small of sample to say one way or another.

He looks exceedingly average to me. Not that fast, and not that physical.

Doesn't have that natural gait Murray has. But he's absolutely serviceable, as long as he stays healthy and hangs onto the ball.

Does look like a nice receiver. If he can be trusted in pass pro, he and Dunbar can be a nice little combo.

Fumbling was an issue for Randle in college with 5 in his last 16 games at OK State so do not be surprised or upset if he coughs one up at some point, but I do hope to continue seeing him hold onto the ball as he has the last 2 games.

I watched the game last night again and I really liked the way this kid played. He was very solid and I didn't see any mistakes. I hope they use him more. He doesn't seem to trip over his feet and he does seem patient when looking for the hole

For the most part, I agree. We need someone like Knowshon Moreno. Murray just needs to stay healthy and he can be that guy.

If Randle is like that, I'll be happy.

Didn't really see anything out of him that you can't get from a guy off the street. It is still way too early to tell.

Actually I think Randle is alot like Moreno, not alot of flash or explosive ability, but a solid RB. That said, there is a reason why the Broncos have been trying to replace Moreno, and there is a reason for us to look elsewhere.

You can find guys like a Moreno or Powell for example, guys I think that are similar to Randle, but the problem is they have no big play ability. The one thing that stands out about Randle is his vision was good all day on Sunday, he just lacked a burst.

And please don't bring up Emmitt in this conversation, cause he did have a burst that Randle doesn't have.

Never really watched Randle in college, so I can't say if he was being timid with his runs or if he doesn't have the burst.
