Random bye week question...

Lawrence Phillips isn't at the top of the list, but he belongs in there somewhere.

Yeah, I forgot about that guy. Maurice Clarett also comes to mind.

I guess I'd throw Cecil Collins into the mix as well. Million dollar body and a 10 cent head.

Could add Blair Thomas and Andre Ware too.

Former Commanders: Heath Shuler, Dan Wilinson, and Desmond Howard as well.

Mike Vick

I keep hearing over here (in Atlanta) that Vick wasn't exactly fond of watching a lot of film. He never worked enough on improving as a passer (especially improving his ability to read defenses).

He got into dogfighting after that.

Leon Lett should also be considered for this award. IMO, he could have been a Hall of Famer if he worked harder and kept out of trouble.

I agree. The guy could have been 1 of the great D-linemen to play the game.

I think only the Skins thought those guys were truly talented. I thought Wilkinson could have been much better, but never thought much about Shuler and Howard. Fine college players, but never looked like they could make that next level in my opinion. A couple of the rare occasions I was proven right.

Now I view Michael Westbrook as a much bigger disappointment than Howard. With his combination of size and speed, I thought he would be very good. He only had a few bright moments, but was mostly less than average.
