DL

This is not a direct response to last night's game but Hayden has to go. I find it hard to believe that Coleman/Bishop cant do better than AT BEST stalemate one guy occasionally. when a team is shorthanded at DL, you cant handcuff the team with a severely limited guy like Hayden out there.

Street

Still wondering what he does well as a WR other than be a blocker on the edge. this is why i can see Whitehead being a bigger presence in the passing game instead of Street while Dez is injured.

Short Passing Attack

I was fine with it. But you have to mix in some deeper throws at some point. We were too content to allow the Giants to dictate the game with how their Safeties were playing deep. I didn't see Ed Reed or Eric Weddle back there. We probably wont play a weaker Safety duo all season.

He had what 29 passes by halftime? Not good unless it was just for one game.

I'm pretty sure it was just one game. Spags scheme imo prides on the front 7. When he was with the Saints, their pass defense was horrible but their front was pretty darn good. Romo probably saw that was the only way to attack his scheme. I don't see him passing 29 times by halftime ever again unless we are down big.

The defense looked gasped an underwhelming. Alot like last year....not much difference at this point. Hopefully Hardy will make a difference when he returns. What is wrong with the WR corp, horrible night all around. Think it will take a few games for this team to jell. Until then it's hold on an hope for the best.

I am not getting all of the disrespect towards our defense at all. We are not built to shut a team out completely. We shut out on the biggest weapons in the game, we held the Giants to 9 legitimate offensive points and Eli had a horrible stat line. Not sure what everyone else expects. Sure we will face tougher offenses but the Giants are not supposed to be a bad offense.

If you think about it did Street even have a catch in the PS?? And what caught 2 balls last year?

If it wasnt for Dez injury, I would have done a Jimmy J and cut him [Street] as a message to the rest of the team. Ex Giant Nicks might be worth a tire kick.

I think that is a bit of an over-reaction (my opinion). I've been scratching my head with Street as well. I've been rooting for him, since he went to my wife's high school alma mater. But I don't see what the coaches seem to see in practice and are so excited about. He did have a few nice pre-season catches, but it has to show up in regular season games.

With all that said, the Giants defender put his hat right on the ball as soon as Street hauled it in - it was a great defensive play!

Yes, he should always hold onto the ball, and yes, he needs to step up. But let's give the kid another chance before we run him outta town on a rail.

Our best kick return was by Patmon. Maybe he should be the KR from now on.

He did. I can't remember which game, but he was getting nice separation in the PS. I distinctly remember a nice curl route he caught.

Its Escobar time. Street needs to stay on the sideline more. Escobar IMO, is a greater threat to Defenses. Split him out like 3 steps from the tackle and make them cover him with a safety or Lber. Witten on the line as always.
Witten or Escobar being covered by Lber has to happen with this package. A matchup won by either easily.
Twill wide and Beasley in the slot. I think this formation is our best package with Dez out.

I agree. I think we are going to be in a lot more 12 personnel and empty sets w/Dez gone. I wouldn't be surprised to see alot of 22 either w/Dunbar motioning out.

It wasn't 29 passes by half-time.

It was 21 passes.

Dez is a fool. Runs around pre game and during the game screaming and jumping up and down and forgets to drink enough water. So he gets tired and breaks his foot. The guy simply cant keep his mouth shut. Now I guess he can scream from the sidelines for 6 weeks and run onto the field and get punched in the face. LOL

I supposed fan that wishes bad things to happen to our players is a fool.

I disagree entirely. The team was sharp in all phases of the game. Fluke plays are fluke plays.

That's it.

Look at the yardage differential.

All they see is the last drive and the final score. They aren't taking into account the -3 turnover differential.

Hayden will be one of the all time puzzlers. I know Marinelli doesnt need a stud at the 1 tech but I mean you can still find someone that is more productive than Hayden, right?

Hydrating issues would manifest themselves before pregame, so not drinking water right before the game is not an issue.
