Gregory left late in the game.

The line was a little gassed. To be expected for the first game and it was evident as the Giants suddenly were running effectively on their last scoring drive.

With that said.....the 'Rushmen' approach needs tweaked.

Meh. We messed up on gap control there in that final drive. Overall, I thought our DL was better than just ok. We were pretty good. The Giant's offense was predicated on getting the ball out immediately, and there's not much you can do about it if they're willing to limit their playbook in the process. It's not like we were giving up points.

I don't see what many were seeing about the preparation. Other than the turnovers, which were monumental and not really the result of preparation in my book (Beasley has to know to cover that ball when he's gang tackled. The Street hit was right on the ball, right at the catch...tough play. The Witten turnover was a poor throw by Tony, plain and simple). We controlled the clock and controlled the football from the jump on offense. Our defense bent, but didn't break, which is exactly what it's supposed to do. They gave up only 9 points really, after all.

Really, it was just the turnovers that hurt us badly in this one. And that could have happened in a week 17 game against these Giants almost as easily has it happened last night.

Wut?

So now the broken foot is because he was tired from running around before the game and getting dehydrated?

Just watching him, the guy is a mental midget. Love the passion, love the talent, love the player. But he simply cant control himself emotionally and it affects him. When you get dehydrated you get tired. When you get tired is when you get hurt. Probably not related but you never know. Broken foot seems more of getting stepped on.

I supposed fan that wishes bad things to happen to our players is a fool.

LOL...........only a fool would say that a fan wishes a bad thing on a player. That was about a dumb a leap as I have seen in a while.

You said you want him to get punched in the face and are mocking his broke foot ....... not to mention calling him a fool when you are the one talking like one.

Special teams coverage was amazing. A+. Special teams returns needs some tweaking. Dunbar was returning it from the back of the endzone and Beasley is too important to lose. Something told me when Beasley cut up field on that play that he would fumble. He's an excellent player but he's a little man in a big man's game. He needs to be smart about avoiding contact. I think Whitehead should be the kick/punt returner.

Our offense was really lethal. Romo is elite. The O-line is dominant. Too many careless mistakes by WRs (drops, fumbles) turned the game. We could've put up 7 TDs against these guys.

Defense was very good. Eli would've carved us up if not for the secondary playing lights out. The secondary gets the other game ball (along with the coverage team).

Hitchens is a man. These LBers will be deadly when Lee and Ro return to full form.

Dunbar did ok on kicks. But he is not as explosive as Lucky is as a KR. Or maybe Gmen ST did a good job which is also likely and there were no holes there.
Dunbar did ok in kicks as in he didn't fumble. His decision to return and his vision on the blocking available was horrible. I think he got past the 15 once. He has great top end speed, weak lateral moves. Tyson Thompson remix.

All I know is before Witten made it an obvious TD, I thought we were going to get a bad spot just short of the goal line.....Of course that only went through my head for .5 seconds......

Man. The pressure was there. You can't sack the QB with two step drops and release. With that said....Crawford still got one.

+1 for you for mentioning Tyron.

BEST tackle in the league. Hands down. Wow. He mean.

I agree, Manning threw some dirt balls when he was afraid of getting hit. Their game plan was to get rid of it quick. And since Manning was kept under 200 yards, you can't complain. He usually throws for 300 in Dallas.

If you take away the 14 points the offense spotted the Giants, the defense held them to 12 points. And the goal line stance at the end of the game, come on. Give 'em some love. No Scandrick and ODB didn't even get noticed other than his bell rung.

We looked like a team that didn't play much in the PS. We were not ready for the fight.

Thought the kicks, and the coverage on Harris was outstanding! Rich took heat all PS, but pulled it off. Although Dunbar returning kicks needs to end now!! He sucks.

Thought Kyle Wilber might have played his best game as a cowboy.

Tyron was amazing!

For Dez to come out and get dehydrated again was ridiculous IMO. He has to learn to control himself. He missed all of spring ball, and PS and it showed that he's not superman.

We still have no passrush. I wouldn't be scared of anybody on our line outside of Crawford. Losing Gregory is huge.

I'm not sure Street will ever do anything with this club. We made a mistake in not drafting/attaining more WR's IMO.

Thought Wilcox had an outstanding game.

I think Michael needs to get up to speed fast as I have no confidence at all in our RB's out side of catching. I did feel better with Dmac in game, but he sucks at getting tough yards.

The short passing game looked like Cally calling plays again. If that's our plan it's going to be a lonnnnng year!

The call on the non catch from the TE for them was an awful missed call by the refs! That cost us our final challenge and could have made a huge difference. That was HS work there.

Does anybody else want to smack OBJ in the face or is it just me? :)

Regarding the pass rush.. I blame the soft coverage and allowing QBs to quickly get rid of the ball.

Eli didn't need an OL last night.

LeBron James has dehydration/cramp problems also. A NFL doctor on twitter always has to explain some athletes have dehydration issues and they cannot do anything to prevent it.

He had what 29 passes by halftime? Not good unless it was just for one game.

He had 24 in the first half, and the last six of those were in the three-minute offense before the half (when Beasley fumbled and Witten batted the pass to the Giants).

If the first game is any indication, we are going to be throwing to our backs more this season instead of just handing it off to them. Seven of those first-half throws went to running backs -- all seven were caught, for 49 yards.

In the first half last night, our backs got 20 touches and gained 105 yards from scrimmage.

Last year in the first half, our backs averaged 18.7 touches in the first half for 103.2 yards from scrimmage.

For the game, our backs got 34 touches for 212 yards from scrimmage. Last year, our backs averaged 34.4 touches for 183.9 yards.

Same (or better) production, just a different way of getting the ball to them.

But you know how strongly the running game correlates to winning! :p
