May not be true but Broaddus is saying Kincaid over Mayer
Teams mislead the week of the draft. Prior to the week, everything was pointing towards Mayer. I like both players, even have Kincaid higher, but think Mayer is their #1 TE on their board cause he helps more with the run game.

I disagree, think he is their top TE on their board as they prefer a more well rounded TE. They are looking to upgrade their offense and he would be the start of it.
I wasn’t clear in my post. When I said “others” I meant other players, not other TEs. I should have been more clear.

As a side note, the Cowboys seem to discount “deep drafts” at a certain position, believing that they can grab a player at that position later in the draft. That happened a few years back at RB.

I can’t say with any degree of certainty that they will not take Mayer, it’s just my off the cuff opinion. I don’t think he will be the highest rated player on their board when they pick, and even if he is, I expect the Cowboys will go in a different direction.

But I have been wrong before, and if I am in this instance, I doubt it will be the last time I am wrong. Lol.

I don’t think the Cowboys have effectively used a tight end in the running game in years. I know it sounds good on paper, but it just hasn’t appeared to be the reality of the situation for the Cowboys.

The last time they played the so called numbers game, they drafted Taco cause they were worried no other pass rushers would be available, but knew the corners were deep.

They do want to run the ball more effectively, that's why the OC and OL coach was let go. Having multiple TE's sets helps with doing that.
