I would love to know Calvin Hill's philosophy on how to manage players like this. Since the Cowboys are considered capable of handling these situations, it would be interesting to see a piece on who and what they have in place.

Oh yes, he said that he couldn't sleep the entire night after the 1st round. This person is smart, I think he is going to be alright, the way he stood in the green room and handled the entire draft situation was commendable for certain. Directly in the public eye, he was a man this week.

Even if Dallas hadn't chosen him, he proved a lot about himself handling great pressure during the process of sliding over the first two days of the Draft.
I agree handled himself very well he didn't pull a "Thurman Thomas"

The three things I heard from him that gives me hope for Gregory and phrased I rarely hear from athletes caught on trouble or wrongdoing:

1. He said "I'm sorry."
2. He acknowledged he is immature.
3. And he publicly is saying he needs help and accountability.

Those are the true steps to recovery.

Not a fan of the pick because his has more flags than Bayer has Aspirin and I don't think he fits the 4-3 scheme but I did like what he said after he was drafted and took responsibility for his actions and I hope he does figure it out but I've heard many before state they're changing their ways only to revert back to old bad habits..

I agree. But the key for me is he has agreed to have a person trail him to hold him accountable. Believe me, athletes don't like that. They want their freedom and don't want guys trailing them like they're little kids. The fact he agrees to that type hanuking tells me there's hope for him.

I know this won't happen but imagine if Aaron Rodgers calls him up and gives him some hope and advice since he has been there too sitting in the green room unexpectingly long. That is the only difference between the two but it would be classy by Rodgers.

what's that saying? the 1st step to recovery is actually admitting there is a problem, or something like that?

this eases my mind a little bit, kid is headed in the right direction already

Absolutely the truth here. You can't fix a problem until you admit that that it exist. I think the kid will be okay. He wants a team to help him get over his issues unlike some NFL players who just don't care at all.

I can respect a guy that recognizes his flaws and is fully transparent with a team.

The way he addressed Rod was very convincing. Rod called him son and Gregory started pouring out about him fitting on the team and working hard.

He's certainly saying all the right things. Hard not to root for the guy to succeed when he's contrite, asks for help and is willing to work for it.

Which addict won't say what you want to hear them get what he wants

We will wait and see, time will tell

If he truly changes then tgat is great for us

Yeah, pretty much the opposite of how Geno Smith handled it. Hopefully it was a life lesson for him and not a temporary embarrassment.

He looks menacing... Reminds me of LT... (His look, that is)
