I mean, if Randy agreed to that contract language, he would've been here for the same amount Denver paid...so i don't know if this is exactly a win for the Joneses. they never offered anything or offered much less, I'd give him credit, but it seems like Randy made the choice for them...

They could have offered him TJ Watt money or at least upped the AAV but they didn't and I respect that.

I agree but the only thing I am curious about is how many offensive linemen Randy Gregory tackled last season?
I will say this at least we didn't completely beat ourselves in this year's 49ers playoff loss compared to last year's. At least we didn't have double digit penalties for triple digit yardage like that game. We kept close and didn't beat ourself but the problem is that our QB is a bus driver who just isn't accurate at all with the "money" throws and that leads to INTs, which in turn brings his throwing confidence back down to 2016, which makes him re-default to throwing to the tight end for the checkdown instead of making that risky "money" throw.

NO the clause was put in and SJ refused to take it out , so the clause is why randy balked at it, meaning the FO if they wanted him bad enough simply would have apologized , removed clause and he would be here. stalemate he left.

The only thing I will say is that I wish we'd have cut him in like week 15 of 2016 after serving his first big suspension (14 games). I know that year our pass rush sucked so it was all hands on deck, but sending him that message back then would have been a seismic culture shift that no job is completely safe even during a successful winning season.

Can we all agree that Jerry got it right with "El Paso"...? We were going to pay the man top edge rushing dollar but only if he conformed to our rules and didn't get in trouble and he balked...
He did. I was a big supporter of Gregory. Guy had talent. The stupidity he showed in that SF game did it for me though. He is a mental midget and a waste of talent.

Can we admit Jerry got it right not changing some language around in the same horrific contract he ended up signing with the Broncos?

We can agree that you haven’t been paying attention

Many of us were saying not to sign Randy yet the Joneses offered him a lucrative top contract. He walked away from it not the Joneses

He got nothing right.

He tried to sign him for like $70 million. The only thing that saved him was that Gregory got pissy over contract language.

We got lucky, plain and simple.

We got lucky and made out in spite of ourselves but we could have easily been stuck with that underachieving dope head for another year at least

Dallas got lucky randy signed with denver. The problem is the mindset in dallas was ok with paying him in the 1st place. I'd take guys like armstrong and fowler over signing 1 randy all day. Having 2 guys that are pretty good and provides depth that beat out the small talent advantage randy has since he always misses games anyway.

got it right??? he wasted a 2nd round pick on a player that admitted pre-draft he had a drug problem and produced 16 sacks in 5 years sprinkled with drug suspensions.

he got lucky. lets not forget he offered him the same contract, except for one clause which Gregory had issues with, otherwise he would be signed by Cowboys.

so lets not give credit, unless its "luck"

Quit having an opinion of your own. Don't you know it's cooler to just follow the rest of the sheep and ***** about the Cowboys every chance you get.
