Randy Gregory making immediate progress
http://network.yardbarker.com/nfl/a...9000757?linksrc=fscom_team_nfl_dallas_cowboys

Dallas Cowboys defensive end and former Nebraska Cornhusker Randy Gregory has been exceeding expectations early on in his career. After falling out of the first-round of the draft, Gregory entered Cowboys minicamp with a chip on his shoulder.

So far, so good on the practice field.

There were also some concerns about Gregory’s slim frame, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is not concerned about where Gregory is at and he is impressed with the player’s willingness to learn from coaches.

It’s easy to see his talent, very easy to see,” Jones said, via the Star-Telegram. “His willingness to take coaching from his teammates, as well as the coaches themselves – all of those things, you like. Those are intangibles.

“I’m pleased that he’s gained the weight he’s gained. I’m going to round this off, but I’d say he’s up 15 pounds. And he doesn’t labor in any way with that 15 pounds. He can lose it — I’m envious — he can lose it as fast as anybody that you can imagine, but he can also put it on. His diet – he’s doing some good stuff. He’s been very responsible.”

With that kind of early praise, Gregory is giving the Cowboys exactly what they were hoping for when they selected him with the 60th overall pick.

Hopefully Gregory can continue to impress and improve when it matters the most.

It was between Fowler and Gregory for the top pass rusher in this class. Getting him at 60 was theft. Not misdemeanor theft level, but Dead Presidents level armed robbery.

I don't follow NCAA very much, but I do remember seeing some reports saying he could have been the best rusher last season, and obviously they mean Clowney. Hopefully his rookie season goes better, and he can pull even half of his potential in a cowboys jersey

Did the cowboys commit a felony ??? I always knew JJ was a crook.

I am not worried about him gaining weight. I was just like him at that age in regards to having difficulty of gaining some lbs. Unfortunately for me Father Time has caught up to me and now I have no trouble gaining weight. It's losing the weight that is the problem.

And based onthe scouting videos of both players...it was VERY obvious that Gregory is the much better player. It seemed to me that Fowler is more of a one trick pony who is nuetralized as soon as the OL puts his hands on him.

Randy has some of the best hands I have seen on a DL coming out and is VERY strong at the point of attack...even with his frame.

We stole ourselves one.

There was a reason why he was a top 5 talent...

If he Keeps the knuckle head in the closet... we have a special piece to our defense to build with

This kid lost millions of dollars because of his problems but now h has the chance to get a bigger contract if he stays the course and perform at a high level for 4-5 years

B-b-but he's only going to be a situational pass rusher. He's just a rookie. Boohooohooo.

@ 235 lbs it was questionable, but his hand and reach technique was always special. I think he's still a 2nd and long or 3rd down player vs the Pass, albeit a very special one.

As some said before the Draft, he also has the quickness the likes of a Bruce Irvin, with exceptional physical intangibles that could make him much better.

If he can just continue the natural progression, he will be a very productive player in the NFL.

That is a good hype video for Gregory. Looks like he is a really good all around player.

Gregory isnt a project. His skills are legit and his technique is real good. Only thing is his size. If he can gain and not effect his speed then great. But im still more interested in seeing Hardy in this defense over any player on defense
