I have seen nothing from Tapper and have seen the body, the moves and the potential in RGregory

He was a legit Top10 pass rusher coming out of college and a perfect bend edge rusher

The 1 sack in 14 games is such a pathetic argument. You lose points on my "good CZ poster" list, and I relegate you to a single team/sport (ergo, Cowboys) follower.

Zero critical thinking or knowledge of how players can, omigosh, develop, after what is less than a single season. This notion of player development applies across all of sports, and even more so to high-ceiling athletes like RG.

One thing people need to remember is that giving long term contracts to players that might be suspended is actually less risky than to players that you don't anticipate to get suspended.

Step 1: We sign Gregory to a long-term extension
Step 2: He relapses and gets suspended
Step 3: The guaranteed portion of his contract is vioded due to suspension(Like Zeke, Doug Martin, etc)
Step 4: We cut Gregory with no dead cap space

Not that easy

Signing bonus can be recovered but it is rebated year to year and the salary stays on the books until it is missed then it is rebated

It is a real hassle for accounting but eventually gets returned

At the future guarantees get voided though

“He got me once. Yeah,” Smith said, quickly clarifying how many times Gregory beat him. “He’s a swift kid. He’s pretty quick, a different type of rusher. He’s going to be pretty good. As an older guy, you kind of get a little aggravated at first. Something you messed up on that you have to clean up, that’s basically all it was.”
