Randy Gregory

Forget for a second we are talking about Randy Gregory. Any player 3 years in a row out of football. How many players can overcome that and have even an average career? OK now add in that we are talking about Gregory and his personal issues, it's impossible for me to ever see him as a contributing player of the Dallas Cowboys.

Josh Gordon possibly. But he's a phenom!

He'd be wasted here too.

Why would the browns agree to any deal that still makes his sobriety their problem?
They will have a new GM. New GMs like draft picks to get "their" players. They tend to want to clean house of all problem players regardless of talent.

Why is Gregory a special case? Sure it doesn’t hurt to keep him around technically, but why show him loyalty when he hasn’t show the team any by completely disregarding everything? And I’m saying that not as a stike against smoking pot, but just that he seems to be given every chance in the world by Jerry. Does everyone on this team have seven or eight chances?

Jerry has always shown extra patience for players he feels has special talent. Going into that draft most mocks had him in the top 20 and many had him in the top ten to fifteen. I think Jerry is holding out hope he will eventually be that guy.

Gregory deserves another shot. Its up to him. Personally, I hope he makes it and proves others wrong. He has the talent. Smoking pot shouldn't destroy a person's life. The so called "adults" that run the NFL need to take another look at their dope position. Where is the common sense and more important the basic humanity.

I think the rose-colored optimist side of Jerry makes him think, "Well, it doesn't hurt to hang onto Gregory. Because what if?"

I think he imagines a best-case scenario where Gregory is eligible, and goes on a tear similar to what Lawrence did early this year. Even if it's only a week or a couple weeks or a month or a playoff push/run, it could make the difference. Jerry has probably privately decided he'll never count on Gregory and, if he had to bet, he'd probably bet on Gregory getting in trouble shortly after getting himself eligible (if he ever does).

He's past the point of caring much or counting on anything. But it's also not prohibitively costly to hang onto him to see if that lottery ticket pays off (if only for a short time before hes back in trouble). When the day comes when holding onto Gregory means risking losing someone we actually like (but we have limited roster spots), I suspect Gregory loses in that decision.

Broadus is like a meteorologist in that if you stick with saying 50/50 he can only be 50% wrong..

Which I guess isn't bad since in baseball a player can fail 70% of the time and still be considered one of the better hitters.

I was wondering how we got 3 pages on this burden of a player then saw it's all jokes about tweets.
Thanks for letting us know. We were all like, "Ya know, that Lutonio dude hasn't chimed in yet, where is he and his condescending bulljive"

There he is.
That weed is coming to get you, brosephus.

Disgusting that some damned weed can ruin a players career in the year 2017. Pathetic. PATHETIC

I hear you bro, it makes no sense.

And it’s not just the NFL, most businesses ban weed also. For example, after I graduated from UT, I did some work for Dell and they randomly drug tested everybody twice per month. Weed was a banned substance and if you tested positive you were fired on the spot.
