Randy Gregory

Pathetic.

He needed to be benched for the rest of the game. Belichek benched one of his best defenders for a SB— and our clown HC can’t bench an idiot player for a half in a game where we are clearly getting whipped.
I mean, not playing Butler is part of the reason why the Pats got smoked.

I wouldn't bench Randy for that, stuff happens in the NFL. It's a really bad look that he couldn't get his attention thoiugh.

The fact that he does something that stupid-- and still gets playing time in the second half is an illustration of everything that is wrong with Coach Garrett. No accountability. He preaches the right message-- but then fails to live it out. Players will only tolerate a hypocrite for so long. This franchise has zero accountability from the top down-- and it's undermining the product on the field.
Seconded.

I'm gonna copy/paste something I posted in the GDT in response to my boy @WillieBeamen :

(because I'm lazy and angry about our whole team, top down, this morning)

Indeed, bro. I love the kid, but what a stupid ******* penalty. And I'm upset he hasn't made a splash today.

He got off the edge incredibly fast a play before that penalty, nice bend, just missed the QB, and then that **** show.

I don't agree with all the "cut him" posts, but I understand the frustration

With that said, a few more weeks of this **** play from Dak, that dates back to last season, and I'm gonna be doing my own version of CZ "RGregory" posts on Dak

I was super frustrated watching the game as a fan. I couldn't imagine how these guys felt playing the game. Especially the defense trying to bail out the offense the entire game. I get the criticism. Randy needs to learn better than that, but, we're all human and we error. Cutting him because of that after all the time we've already sunk into him would be asinine. It's funny, I swear some people forgot what it's like to be young. You're definitely more prone to have juvenile tendencies. He'll learn

The NFL is so soft. He shoved a guy's facemask after a play, it's not like he took his helmet off and swung it. In rugby they'd just call that a little argie bargie and the refs would separate everyone and move on. And those guys aren't wearing helmets to protect their faces.

I'm glad someone said it. I love Aussie football and the players get into full on shoving matches and near fisticuffs after some plays, and no one gets penalties nor does anyone puff their chest out feeling disrespected. The players take the ball and move on.

But the rules are the rules, and G knows the rules and he was being very stupid. I'm all for player safety before that issue gets brought up, but these sorts of bs penalties on every play are one of the main reasons I can't watch an NFL game anymore unless it's the Boys. And even then I can be talked into something else, which would not have been the case 15 years ago, even through the dark 5-11 days.

Gregory is not very impressive. But then again, there was not may impressive players yesterday ... I am impressed with our punter ... lol

LOL. It was kind of a shame the punt of the century was nullified by a roughing the kicker call. He had them back on the 20 when it looked like they would have pretty good field position.

I thought the same thing. Should mention Maher, he is settling in nicely. But it's a bad sign when you are finding the only positives are in the kicking game ... :lmao:

Ok, there were parts of the game I missed yesterday for some unforeseen circumstances and this play was one. What did he do?

I'm not sure Maher is. I didn't see his 2nd kick, but that first kick was a miss for a good part of it's travels and just snuck in at the last moment. And his kickoffs aren't deep which is surprising, but then maybe the ST coach is telling him not to kick it deep.

Slapped Joey Hunt (SEA C) in the helmet/grabbed his facemark after a play, personal foul, allowed the Hawks a much easier FG kick, from over 60 yds, to ~47yds.

BTW, I exaggerated. They wouldn't even call in an argie bargie, a single shove to the face would be classified as niggle. Hell, I saw a 6' 8" Brodie Retallick shove a 5' 10" TJ Peranara in the head harder than that and they freaking play together on the same international team. They were playing for opposite Super Rugby clubs that day and TJ couldn't stop Brodie from scoring, there was talk and a head shove. Then after the game they had a beer in the shed. That kind of stuff happens in physical sports.

All that said, it was really stupid of Gregory to do it because he plays for the NFL and they absolutely won't tolerate that. He has to be smarter.

Obviously not a smart play, but emotions are a part of the game. Don't know what had transpired prior to that. Maybe the 'hawks OL had been trying to cut his and others knees. I try to avoid knee-jerk reactions.

Randy Gregory’s contribution to the Dallas Cowboys since the FO spent a 2nd-rd pick on him in 2015:

@17 games played, 1 sack recorded.

Our offense is so pathetic that I honestly think the right call may have been to decline the penalty and take the 75 or so yards in field position instead.
